It's... quiet. The morning is quiet and dull and even the animals lingering on the fringes of town seem a bit at a loss for what to do. The town as a whole seems to be waiting and it isn't until the Sheriff leaves the station carrying a wooden gibbet easily in his arms that things seem to perk up. He drops it into the dirt, shoves it in with a grunt and then heads back into the station.
A few moments later Tiara follows him out, leashed to him by a rope binding her hands and a blindfold around her eyes. In the Sheriff's other hand is a bucket. He brings them to the stick and drops the bucket upside down on the ground, helping her to stand up on it and pulling the noose around her neck a moment after. He uses the excess of rope around her hands to bind her to the stick.
He turns back to the town after, glancing at the few stray animals that have set up on the porches to watch. A crow nearby caws out from on top of the Saloon sign. The Sheriff looks to the hotel and a moment later, the bells on top of the church begin to ring. Twelve rings signaling the hour and the Sheriff calls out, louder than naturally possible,
"Execution time, folks! Ezio Auditore has been chosen as executioner. Come on down and watch."
And then, as indifferent as ever, he pops a piece of tobacco. |

And then Hannibal has to ask that and he's torn between an appreciative sort of affection and disgust at the fact he feels that at all. ]
I can have breakfast without you.
[ Will, no you can't. You put all this work into sewing yourself to Hannibal's side, now you're all weird about it. ]
-- And, it was fine. Breakfast was fine. Thank you.
[ Mr. Delicate Constitution isn't going to puke this time. He also hesitates slightly before trying to bite out -- ]
Do you -- I could -- [ A frustrated noise and he pushes his hands through his hair. ] I could run you. A bath. Later, after you're done with this. [ He pauses. ] If you want. [ Another pause and the rest spills out all at once. ] Because you're getting very dirty like this and you'll probably be sore.

You're welcome. You may be able to have breakfast without me, but considering I was busy chatting the night before, I still wanted to apologize.
[ Which is the most Hannibal way to say "I missed you," but. That's him. He glances up briefly as Will starts to stammer out something, since he's curious where it's going, but it also doesn't go anywhere that Hannibal expected it to. He was expecting something endearingly rude, and instead, this is almost the exact opposite. He actually falters in his digging, looking up at Will with clear, open-mouthed surprise, but by the "if you want," he's looking away again to regain his composure. Hannibal losing his composure still tends to be very composed, but still. It's definitely lost for a moment there. ]
I- [ Hannibal even pauses too, since he's even briefly lost his easy eloquence. Will also has a great power here, and that's being one of the few people that can fluster him. ]
That would be very nice, actually. I would appreciate it.

Which in turn means his own offer catches him off guard just the same and he takes a moment to blink back wide eyed at Hannibal's own surprise. His teeth grit and he frowns deeply a moment later, expression hinging on a scowl. He shouldn't have done that, he thinks. He should definitely not have done that and yet he did and now he has to commit and this is just -- he has absolutely no idea why he's doing this. God, he misses Molly. Not the Molly who faced the Red Dragon and couldn't bear the sight of Will again but the Molly beforehand, the Molly of Moosehead Lake who was kind and funny and never expected anything of him but to be a good, sweet man.
Now there's Hannibal, jagged edged and dripping blood and all Will wants to do is settle with him. Settle, with everything that entails. He fidgets again and slips off the tombstone he was leaning against. He doesn't even bother to glance at the name. ]
Yeah, then. That. That'll happen then.
[ He doesn't even know why he's standing. ]
I'm going to walk Winston. [ Who is probably fine, and roaming. ] Be careful. With the body.
[ Jesus Christ. He's leaving now before he says more absolutely stupid bullshit. In fact, as he walks away Hannibal can probably hear Will give a burst of muffled swearing to himself, but the motherfucking piece of shit idiot son of a bitch kind of carries on the wind a little. ]
