INVESTIGATION

The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this: One of your own is gone. And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate. Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread. After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. ...Noctis, why would the weapon's holder be under Manfred if he bled out from the chest? [That's important to him suddenly. That seems really strange? They're definitely missing something bigger.]

Is it that weird? If it fell before he did, that would do it.

[they could be missing someone bigger, but noct isn't positive there's a complicated answer... but he's bad at this, it's fine.]

It is since usually scabbards are attached to a person. [But what does Percy know? His sword is a pen.] Unless his attacker threw it on the ground or Manfred grabbed it before he was killed, I'm not sure how that would happen.

[He's overthinking it, probably.] Anyway, I have a lot of questions but it all comes down to who would Manfred trust enough to meet outside after curfew? We're not gonna know until...you know. [The trial, he means.]

Maybe it just got knocked off. The whole place is a wreck in there—not exactly a pretty sight.

[cleanup in aisle 12, etc.]

We'll just have to look into both things tomorrow, I guess. Not really sure about the answers to either of 'em... didn't even know the guy much.

[A nod. Seems fake but okay, he'll let it go.]

We'll figure it out. [But he notices that more people are arriving because Noctis yelled about corpses.] I need to go find Annabeth, make sure she knows. But later? [It's not really a question, but he expects Noctis to understand what he's saying.]

Yeah, do what you gotta for now.

[he knows, he gets it. they've got the rest of the day to ruminate on it anyway.]
