[ WEEK THREE – TRIAL ]

TRIAL

In the morning, the town comes back to life. Birds crow overhead, a snake nearby hisses, a lingering coyote dips behind a shop before disappearing into the wild. It's a frightening contrast to the stillness of yesterday but it doesn't mean it's over yet. After all, today is the trial. The Sheriff stands on the porch of the Town Hall and brings his hand up to his mouth to let out a whistle. He'll thumb back to the Hall behind him and very clearly state -- "Trial time, folks. Get in here and figure out who did it." And then he'll turn to leave before pausing and adding on, "Bring a snack or somethin' too. The Town Hall is set up more like a court house, a Judge's bench at the front but instead of at center, it's off to the side as if more for observation than participation. There's a table at the front of the room already holding a small box and a pad of papers and pen, for voting apparently. A side room containing only a metal gurney is next and today it's obvious why there's a gurney there at all with the corpse, resting right on top of it. Aside from that, there are rows for everyone to take a seat and it's only after everyone is inside and settled, that the doors close and the Sheriff speaks. "Well, have at it. You've got till nine." And then, he points to a clock on the wall that reads 12:00. Good luck. Welcome to the trial post! Characters are free to discuss everything related to the trial here. If they were killed by separate people, it seems to me like the one who killed the girl in the stocks and the one who killed Nui were working together. It isn't unreasonable to assume that Nui was burned by the fire from the stocks rather than the bonfire - that one is contained, and she already knew about it.

[ he doesn't think she'd just accidentally fall into a fire, though - so someone must have shoved her into it on purpose. ]

I only wonder why she'd be near the restaurant in the first place. It's unfortunate her roommate is dead. [ a beat. ] Then again, killing them both prevents us from getting information out of either. And Annabeth had nobody to watch over her at all. This was planned.

[ Well, she already was the subject of Claire's sexual boasts, so might as well get naked for the whole town or whatever. Ultimately, she has zero injuries on her person. ]

[ Sorry Okabe... At least Hannibal is making it as quick and painless as possible, since he's going as quickly as he can. ]

In a sense. Pull up your pants leg as far as it will go. If it does not go past your thighs, then yes, we will.

[ At the very least, Hannibal is quick, thorough, and objective. He doesn't say anything while he works, but hey, any injuries here? ]

...okay maybe it doesn't look quite that dramatic right now, but whatever. He's taking his shirt off. Impressive muscles, a shitload of old scars, but no recent injuries, no bruises.]

[ Hannibal is at least thorough and objective, though he does pause at those injuries. They look old, but still, he asks: ]

A fair amount, I'm afraid. I would expect the torso to be most likely to bear injuries, so certainly enough for me to be able to see it fully. You may keep undergarments, naturally.

[ And possibly the legs, though so long as he can see the torso and arms he'll be pretty satisfied ]

[He knows he doesn't have to clear his own name, but he wants to be leading by example. So he's fine stripping, all you're getting from him are years-old scars and his stupid tattoo listed on his wanted poster.]

[Ezio shrugs and is generally... pretty casual as he takes off his clothes, considering he and Hannibal have lived together all this time.

He definitely has a few scars asides from the obvious one on his face, but they're clearly not from anything recent. Enjoy muscular assassin man??]

[Okabe tries, but ultimately, his pants leg doesn't quite make it past his knee...]

[ Yeah, she's all good, and he knows exactly where that injury came from considering he patched it up himself. He draws back and places a hand on her shoulder lightly and just gives a simple comment: ]

Try not to put too much weight on your foot, Xion. You'll irritate it further.

[ But that's just him worrying and fussing. Ignore him. ]
