[ WEEK FOUR ]

WEEK FOUR

CURRENT POPULATION: 28

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

[Enjoy it, Milla. At first Eliot turns to explain to her the details of the pork dish she's eating, but with the way she's digging in, he figures he'll just let her eat it.]

Well, happy to help. Hell, you're helping me, sorta, by makin' sure this food ain't going to waste.

[Yeah, he is just sort of... cooking aimlessly here. There's no people waiting or anything, he's just sorta feeding whoever wanders near.]

[she'll ask about the details later. and then maybe try to recreate it herself with only a marginal amount of success]

It'd be such a shame to waste a wonderful meal like this one. It's the best thing I've eaten since I arrived here.

[she eyes the other dishes he's making]

May I have some of that, too? [she points to a random one. there's a pause, and then she gestures to another plate] Oh-- and also some of that.

[MILLA IS HERE TO HELP CLEAN YOU OUT, ELIOT]

Thanks. Glad you're enjoying it.

[Her question gets a laugh from him. Like... an actual honest to god laugh, even if it's just a short one. It's honestly rare seeing him in a mood that's not... stoically grumpy or outright pissed.]

Yeah, knock yourself out. Don't see any other takers around.

[it's nice to see someone in a good mood around here, honestly. with how heavy the atmosphere is most of the time, a little lightheartedness goes a long way]

Thank you!

[grabs another dish and digs into that as well, albeit a bit more slowly than she did earlier. she's remembering etiquette]

I attempted to cook a bit myself earlier this week. [. . .] It unfortunately didn't go so well. I understand the harmony of flavor easily, but for some reason, the technical aspects of putting those flavors together eluded me.

Well, cooking's more than just that. It's a good first step, mind you. But it's a skill like any other. One you gotta practice to get good at. It's better to start off with some basic, beginner recipes.

Having someone more experienced to show you the ropes helps too. S'how I learned.

Would you mind showing me a few tips and techniques? I'd like to make something more delicious for the trial this week.
