The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.
[Damian IS PETA, GOD. Unless these are human entrails, then he doesn't care...
But fine, he'll go look more closely at the stupid entrails... or the area near them more specifically. He'll try to make out the tracks, or at least follow them as far as he can to see where they came from or where they went.]
[ Can you... just let me give you this monkey corpse, Damian?
Because there is a monkey corpse burning in the pile of entrails. Charred through pretty badly already.
As for the tracks, it looks like it came from around the train and the person followed the same path back, kicking the dirt around to obscure the footprints. There's only a few tips of footprints, enough to show that it's an adult or a teenager but that's it. ]
It's a pure travesty. A piece of Damian Wayne's soul is ripped right out of his body. It's good it wasn't the cat, but look. An innocent, pure monkey has been brutally murdered and disrespectfully burned in a pile of organs.] I'm sorry.
[He's gonna just... try to put some dirt on it to put the fire out?? But if it's too big of a fire, he'll leave it for now and continue on with following the tracks around the train.]
[The "no way" get him to look up, his (own, thankfully) hand moving automatically to tap out a question — except. Uh. He doesn't have to, because his eyes land on her stump. And her face. And then on the rotting arm they found on the floor.
And.
Yikes.
DROPPING THAT SHIT ASAP??? While choking out something that sounds suspiciously like "holy shit". Definitely a kneejerk reaction. Also, dick move ya dingus.]
[That's fair because Barnham also feels like he's going to gag. Once he's fetched every last one of those body parts from the water, he drags himself and the net full o' limbs out onto the dock again, setting it down next to her head with a sigh.
Whoo!!!
While Papika looks over Simon, looks like it's Barnham's duty to look over Lust('s pieces) and see...if maybe she didn't die via dismemberment??
Seriously though she's backing out of the gunsmith unless Jason stops her?? She looks like she wants to puke. Someone should probably do something with her arm but it's not going to be her.]
Damian absolutely gives the monkey a nice little light burial. At least puts it out. He'll come back later with a shovel or something and bury it properly.
Now he'll circle around the train to see if he can find anyone or any more tracks??? HE DOESNT WANNA LOOK AT THIS SHIT ANYMORE.]
[ so after the great body search of week four, whole ass can be greeted to papika and barnham both walking back to the rest of town! they stop near the sheriff's station and the first thing anyone might notice is that they are both completely and utterly soaked, and they also both look very grossed out.
HUH. WONDER WHAT HAPPENED HERE. (it was bodies. bodies happened here.) ]
Hi... [ she. waves??? ] We found them? Lust and Simon. They were at the watering hole. Someone shot Simon in the head, and then tied him to a rock and threw him into the... lake... [ SHE LOOKS EVEN MORE GROSSED OUT AS SHE'S ABOUT TO SAY THE NEXT PART. ] We found Lust's head on the dock. And the rest of her pieces were in the water. We got it all out? They're back there.
That's, um, all. [ she looks at barnham and whispers. ] Did I do that right?
