[ WEEK FOUR – TRIAL ]

TRIAL

In the morning, the town comes back to life. Birds crow overhead, a snake nearby hisses, a lingering coyote dips behind a shop before disappearing into the wild. It's a frightening contrast to the stillness of yesterday but it doesn't mean it's over yet. After all, today is the trial. The Sheriff stands on the porch of the Town Hall and brings his hand up to his mouth to let out a whistle. He'll thumb back to the Hall behind him and very clearly state -- "Trial time, folks. Get in here and figure out who did it." And then he'll turn to leave before pausing and adding on, "Bring a snack or somethin' too. The Town Hall is set up more like a court house, a Judge's bench at the front but instead of at center, it's off to the side as if more for observation than participation. There's a table at the front of the room already holding a small box and a pad of papers and pen, for voting apparently. A side room containing only a metal gurney is next and today it's obvious why there's a gurney there at all with the corpse, resting right on top of it. Aside from that, there are rows for everyone to take a seat and it's only after everyone is inside and settled, that the doors close and the Sheriff speaks. "Well, have at it. You've got till nine." And then, he points to a clock on the wall that reads 12:00. Good luck. Welcome to the trial post! Characters are free to discuss everything related to the trial here. [ Well. Technically speaking, they did find something last week, just, you know, they didn't question it and it wasn't relevant. Whatever!! Time for strip searches.

For the ease of me keeping track of all the threads since it got chaotic last week, just respond with the state of your character's body unless they have any objections to stripping down first! ]

[ Elizabeth is less than okay with this, but since we'll say she complied last week she will do so again this week if it means there is better chance of finding the guilty parties.

There is nothing of note on her body, aside from her missing pinky but that's been there from the start. ]

[Ezio's body is the same as it was last week. Old scars, muscles, you know.]

[ there's a few marks on his head from the Sheriff beaning him with wood planks, but other than that, nothing. ]

[noct's got nothing to hide—so he'll comply. the only difference from the previous week is some faded bruising on his right knuckles and a couple of scabs from scrapes over that area, which seem to be about a week old.]

[After carefully laying his coat and shirt on the ground...

Well, uh. Shinnosuke's got scars and a lot of scratches (but he also went tumbling with robotic creatures and has had to fumble around while blind lately, so).

More notably, he's got some relatively fresh bruises. And because he knows how this probably looks, he adds:]

... Teacher—Miss Valestein—and I were sparring on Wednesday. I wanted to readjust to fighting without my vision. [...] Dunno if it counts as proof, but I left her a note asking to meet me at [insert time during broad daylight] in front of the hotel, so if she has it on her, there's that.

[ Well, this had been her suggestion, so no problems here. Chane is utterly without a scrape and probably smelling like apples? Look, the general store does not have a wide selection of scented soaps. ]

[Same deal as last week. Still buff, there's old scars, all that. Nothing recent.]

[ Sara is about the same, with the addition of some fading bruises on her arms. ]

Another trial, another strip search. If we survive until next week, I don't mind letting you take a break.

[ Is Claire offering to strip search people next week??? In any case, there isn't a single scratch on his body, but he's coooperating easily. ]

[ STILL... JUST STRAIGHT UP NOT DOING IT THOUGH ]

[STRIPPING WITHOUT HESITATION AGAIN although she moves slowly since. you know. bruised torso and all. her stomach and lower chest area is covered in black and blue bruises, but that's the only visible injury she has. it's the same injury Hannibal treated on Wednesday]

Same thing as last week, the years-old marks and such. One thing that's different from last week's strip search is the healing cuts andd fading bruises on his knuckles. Given that his hands were bandaged during Tarvek and Nisha's execution, and the marks themselves seem to be a week old, it's safe to say Percy punched something else. Oh well.]

[ She's as clean as she was last week, aside from her horribly busted leg and scratches on her left wrist that are by now healing over. All of this is from the gunsmith incident, which Hannibal himself could verify. ]

[ No bruises or anything! Though, Russell has a bandaid on his finger and one on his arm, but they're pretty small. ]

I've been... Fishing a lot.

[Yuna's sitting out unless someone pesters her about it but only because Hannibal patched her up literally yesterday, the state of the Yuna is Mauled By A Coyote, that hasn't changed.]

[She's certainly Not Happy about having to do this, but it's better to get it over with, probably. Regardless, she doesn't have any injuries or marks, other than the one from last week.]

[On the one hand: nothing is on her except for, y'know, her missing leg, the various fading injuries from last week, and assorted bumps and bruises from losing her balance without a leg.

On the other, she doesn't want to strip.]
