 CURRENT POPULATION: 40
It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest. |

[ Because the Church reminds him of something... Russell can't help but wander in there. Also the Sheriff talk about some rules, guess it's some information to take a peek at, right?
Kinda weird you need permission to kill... Guess he can't complain. But anyway... ]
If you kill yourself... How do you get disqualified if you're already dead?
[ That's a weird way to write a sentence. Suicides is even written as a plural? ]
Saloon
[ You can find Russell at a table! He's sitting down, keeping to himself; knees close to his chest with his diary resting on it he silently writes in it. Every so often he peeks up curiously, just watching people do their stuff.
Look at this loser... Doing nothing all by himself. Approach? Drag him off to do stuff? Stare at him weird? Whatever you want. ]
Wildcard!
[ feel free to surprise me too! it's pretty easy to drag russell off to do anything, and he'll be exploring / poking his head just about anywhere. or hmu at
church
[Barnham's got his arms crossed, contemplative.]
It would suggest there is something further to be concerned with even after death.

If we're playing a game where we have to kill... But there's more to do after we die then I don't get it.
[ Hmm... ] Maybe this place isn't real..
[ He sure hopes so!!! ]
no subject
That is a jump in logic I am not willing to yet entertain. We must proceed on as if it is real, as there is not much else in the way of options for us.
Until proven otherwise, we must proceed with what we know as true.
no subject
I don't see how it's a jump...?
[ But once again, Russell's been having a Fun time in Happy Dream World before coming here... He kind of misses it, at least everyone is nice to him... Even if he doesn't deserve it? Whatever, it's still nice. ]
Then... Are you going to play along with the "game" the sheriff talked about? [ You know, killing people and junk. ]
no subject
[Keep up, small child. Murder = bad]
We cannot simply do as this purported "Sheriff of the Law" states.
no subject
But... He's the one that brought us here... Wouldn't it make sense to do what he says so we can get out?
no subject
There will be other ways.

[ Russell just frowns and stares down at the book. ] I just want to go back.

[Which sounds even more ridiculous as he repeats it. He can't believe he's discussing this shit, still? They should be looking for a way out, not questioning the rule book.]
no subject
[ Sure, Russell doesn't remember how he got here, but "not quite all the way dead" is weird! ]
I definitely remember not being dead yet before coming here...

[Not including Jason, ba dum tshhhhhh.]
But let's hope some idiot doesn't change that by buying into this whole [imitating the sheriff:] "there can only be one" shtick.
no subject
Then... Does that mean you're not going to play along? If we're not dead or alive, maybe... it should be okay, right?
no subject
[Said like this should be obvious. Congrats, Russell. You've engaged a Teen HeroTM.]
Are you seriously thinking about playing along? [Dude????] There's no excuse for murder, and even if there was — we don't know if good ol' Hal was telling the truth. Anyone who doesn't stop to think about that is looking to get their butt kicked.
[Sorry, but not sorry.]
If we want to get out, then we make our own exit. Anything else shouldn't even be an option.
no subject
Uhm... Maybe... A lot of people tell me it's bad, but I still don't get it.
[ Killing... Is bad? Sort of? He really doesn't get it. Sorry, Jason, you might have to kick this kid's butt if that's the case. ]
. . . Well, if you know how to get out of here I can help..? [ That's better than killing, right. ]
no subject
What is there not to "get"? Killing people is wrong. Nobody should get to decide whether another person lives or dies. That's all there is to it.
[Butt kicking will be imminent. Please increase your guilt level by at least 10%, bro.]
... I don't know yet, but I'm looking. I think I could get the train running again if we had a way to pop the conductor's cabin open.
no subject
[ He'll just... Think on that, maybe. It might stick with him, it might not. Who knows. Where are those guilt levels when you need them...!? ]
Have you tried breaking in yet? It's not like that train is guarded... Right? [ at least ,he doesn't remember them being. ]

If he's presenting this whole thing like a game, maybe he sees it as cheating?
no subject
[ Russell still doesn't fully understand- probably because the sentence is written kind of funky? But man, he still doesn't even know why he's here. ]
Do you think... It would count as cheating?
no subject
I don't know. [He sounds a little unsure, but mostly because he doesn't have a straight answer.] The sheriff sort of implied we're all being watched, so maybe that wouldn't be "entertaining" enough to count. It's like hitting yourself with a dodgeball to sit on the sidelines.
But I hope people aren't considering it anyway. [Mostly since they sure don't know what disqualified even means.]
no subject
Oh... [ Russell immediately deflates - he looks down at the book with a frown. Being watched like this, for who knows what reason, and the possibility to die just reminds him back where he was before... The heck!! ]
They could be doing an experiment too... That's one reason why someone would watch a group of people, right..? Are you going to kill people like the sheriff said too?
no subject
no subject
[ Except not really because by the end of the day, there would be killing required... Even though Russell still doesn't really see a problem with it? ]
Hmm... I'm not sure what to do then, but I really want to go back to where I was before. It was kind of better than this.
no subject
Only kind of better?
no subject
[ Well, anything is kind of better than wild west murder town...? Russell is quiet for just a moment, thinking if he should say anything or not, but you know; it's not like a lot of things really matter anyway SO..! ]
My aunt put me into this experiment... Or something. I never really cared about the specifics because I never really see the point of it, and I'm going to die anyway. It's still a bit better than this place, though.
[ Just casually waiting for that sweet embrace of death. ]
