CURRENT POPULATION: 40 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. [ Chane looks over her shoulder at him and struggles not to visibly recoil away from that toothy, lopsided grin. It's a struggle won, because Chane's restraint is a mighty thing indeed.

... Eventually, she shakes her head and pins the poster back up on the board. ]

[stentorian]

It says here that you cannot speak.

[Manfred points at that part of her poster and shakes his head.]

Tsk. Our sheriff doesn't seem to discriminate when it comes to bringing in gladiators for his grisly coliseum.

[tightly]

[ That's true, but - ]

[ Well, if that disability is enough to make Manfred see her as harmless, there's no reason to disabuse him of that notion. Chane does her best to look appropriately unassuming.

She does write something down, though. Much love for the trusty notepad.

Do you truly believe he was the one who brought us here? ]

[stentorian]

[Oh, Manfred sees her as harmless. Mostly harmless. For now. But he of all people should know that anyone, when pushed right, can be dangerous.

He himself is.

Anyway, he peers down at what Chane wrote.]

He is, at the very least, an accomplice. Especially for failing to stop this fiasco from even beginning.

[tightly]

[ Well, that's technically correct. The way Manfred phrases it only makes her more curious about him, though.

Write... write... hold up notepad! ]

Would you put him on trial rather than one of us?

[stentorian]

Yes, but if anyone decides to play along with his whims and kills someone, then the killer must also be brought to justice.

[There's a glint in his eyes when he says "JUSTICE".]
