It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

Xion ends up staring at the Hero Club box for a long while, hands drawn to her chest as if she's afraid it might bite her or something. Pluto sits at her side, tail thumping as he looks between her and the box. When he stands up on all fours, he points his nose at the box and BARKS!

Xion almost jumps out of her skin, but that's fine. ]

You think I should sign up?

[ Pluto barks again, his tail wagging so hard that his whole butt wags. Xion looks kind of put out. ]

But... I'm not a hero.

[ Chews her lip looking at the box again. Yuna Yuki... did she start this? ]

I wonder if I could talk to that person, first...

[SPEAK OF THE DEVIL AND SHE SHALL APPEAR i.e., it hardly takes a full minute for Yuna to drag herself into the hotel lobby, probably just coming back from bringing Ao third helpings of lunch, but she perks right up when she sees Xion by the box (Xion!! with a dog!!!!! by the box!!!!!]

Hi, hiiii! [She skips right on over, leans a hand on the side of the table the box is resting on.] Did you have any questions about the Hero Club?!

[ oh god where did this sudden sunshine come from

Xion is slightly taken aback, but manages not to actually back away. Instead she just regathers her composure and pulls in a breath. ]

U-Um... [ okay no she has to glance at her dog for confidence but Pluto just nudges her hip, pushing her closer to Yuna ] Jeez, okay!!

[ To Yuna, with a sigh: ] Um ... could I join? I-- I don't know anything about being a hero, and I might not be very good at it, but... I think I'd like to try? If that's okay...

[xion's barely going to be able to even finish saying all that before] Of course you can join! The Hero Club's always recruiting!

Have you read the tenets yet? Hero club tenet number five! You're likely to succeed if you try! So if you put your heart into it, I'm sure you'll do a great job!

Oh yeah, and your dog can join, too! [SHE LOVES THE PUPPER]

She's so ... excited.

A little bowled over by all this enthusiasm, Xion just ends up kind of blinking at Yuna like she's not sure what to do with her or with all those exclamation marks.

But it's the comment about Pluto that finally gets a real reaction. Xion laughs, a surprised bubble of sound, and starts to smile without even thinking about it. ]

Well ... if you say so, I guess there's no reason not to try, is there? [ Xion grins down at Pluto, and he jumps up and down he's so excited. ] Okay! We'll do it! [ WITH SUDDEN FIERY DETERMINATION ] Do I just ... write my name down?

Yeah! [Yuna even picks up the pen she's set by the box and hands it to her.] As a member of the Hero Club, you have to be ready to help anyone who needs it, especially if they come and ask, and you have to do your best to live by the tenets, too. So if you can promise to do that then I'd really love it if you joined! [She gestures to the box, beaming.]

Ready to help anyone who needs it...

[ Xion repeats the words quietly, looking down at the pen now in her hand. With quite a serious look on her face, she leans over to write her name on the list.

After a beat, she writes Pluto's, too, earning an approving and loud boof. ]

I promise. [ Very seriously, but then she smiles a little. ] It's good for all of us to help each other, isn't it? Especially in a situation like this.

[SHE REALLY DID WRITE HER DOG'S NAME DOWN TOO XION IS YUNA'S KIND OF PEOPLE

So she claps and cheers as Xion fills out their names, thrilled.]

Yay! That's exactly the right idea, Xion, I'm so happy you think so, too!

[and she is positively OVER THE MOON, oh my god, yuna, calm down]

Welcome to the Hero Club, Xion! I'm Yuna Yuki, and it's really nice to meet you! [The slightest of pauses as she crouches a little closer to Pluto's height.] And it's nice to meet you, too, Pluto.

[ xion can only ever aspire to having this much energy

she probably will actually aspire to it.

She's beaming, a little confused but mostly just happy, as Yuna's enthusiasm washes over her. ] It's nice to meet you too, Yuna! Thank you for welcoming me.

[ Pluto ... salutes with one of his ears. How did he do that? We just don't know. He did it, though, while looking Very Serious. ]

So, um... w-where do we start?

[ That wasn't what she meant to ask. She's trying, though... ]

—R-right! First order of business!

[Yuna's still sort of adjusting to the fact that she's In Charge; this was an unforeseen consequence of trying to start a club, somehow.]

We've been talking about finding a way to get Ao and Miss Tiara out of those jail cells. Mister Tarvek said he was going to work on something, but in the meantime, the rest of us should be brainstorming, too. Besides that, when requests come in, I'll be checking in with the rest of the club so we can all work together to fulfill them! Of course, if you need anything, or you think of anything that would be a good idea, you should tell me and the others!
