It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest. |

That is to say, Chane seems to visibly react to his words, not a flinch but a more subdued version thereof, along with a thoughtful type of doubt lending a crease to her brow. ]

Nobody's going to believe these anyway. Besides, there are a lot of people here with even worse crimes. [He taps on his own poster.] We might be caged up but there's no reason anybody should believe these.

Murder, brainwashing— (wait, what?) - weapon sales, property damage, what she can only assume is automobile theft...
As she finishes reading that list, Chane gives him an incredulous look. ]

What did I just say about not believing the posters? Their facts are pretty wrong. [Despite the fact he can explain everything on his own poster that's the story he's sticking with thank you very much. He turns, this time pointing at Barnham.] Do you really think somebody would be burning witches at the stake? Or...[This time, a point to Yuna's.] Feeding jerky to a cow? That's not even really something punishable and more like it was lost in translation somewhere.
no subject
As for the jerky thing? Chane writes something down and then holds up the notepad for him to see: Feeding animal protein to animals is illegal in quite a few countries.
Let's... not ask how or why she knows that. ]
no subject
Wait really? Why would that be...[Percy.] Animal cannibalism? [Gods, why.] Okay, never mind. Still sounds pretty fake.
[But.] Any idea what the last thing on your poster means?
no subject
That might not be what Percy is referring to, however.
"Probably everything (except that)" is possibly the least reassuring thing to see on a cryptic, unexplained poster about oneself. Peering back at him, she shakes her head; ostensibly, just as confused as Percy about it. ]

Had a feeling. I think that's going to be the same for a lot of people. [His gaze lingers back to his own poster before flitting to Annabeth's as well.] The bright side is the Sheriff's one of the most wanted, too, and I think more people would be interested in jailing him than you or Xion.
no subject
That aside, she does catch where his gaze goes, but sets it aside for now.
Writing again: Perhaps, but if he really is a robot, interrogating him might not be possible. Of course, being from the 1930s, Chane's only experience with such beings is the film Metropolis. Sufficed to say, there's not much of a resemblance between the two. ]

He watches her write before he shakes his head.]
It's possible. If anybody can do it it'll be Annabeth anyway. [Who. Already started. Thanks, Annabeth.] Robots are programmed for certain things but they can still be given new directions and stuff. He seems to have a bunch of answers in his head.
[He then nods back at her little notepad.] Am I asking too much? [i.e. "is it a pain in the ass to keep writing everything down?"]
no subject
At his question, she shakes her head politely. It is a bit irritating, but: ]
I don't mind. Ask what you want.
no subject
Are you going to be okay? [With everything, he means. He doesn't know if she's alone or how she really feels about all of this, but it's worth asking.]
no subject
[ You think she'd be used to this by now. Such unapologetic concern still renders her bashful and baffled in turn.
With some warmth, Chane nods. ]
I will be fine. Thank you for asking.
no subject
No big deal. We're all kind of trapped so I figured it was worth asking. A lot of people showed up on their own here. It's better if people are checking up on each other. [It's both a.) true and b.) a subtle way of seeing if Chane herself showed up alone.]
