DEPARTURE

It's time to go.

Most people are on the train by now. Settled into their cabins and among friends and loved ones. There are only three new arrivals left to board and once they do, Hal pulls a conductor's hat out from underneath the bar, tugs it on, and steps around it to the middle of the train. He opens his mouth to talk, voice filling the train.

"It's time to go. Stops happen once a day until everyone's departed and I already have your stopped listed. If you'd like to be prioritized, let me know, otherwise we'll go in order of death. Settle in and enjoy the ride. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, folks."

This, of course, means that those who died earliest (Manfred, Higekiri) will depart first while those who died latest (Barnham, Damian, Percy) will depart last. There's a stop for everyone, though those who want to get off together are more than welcome to. Hal pulls a notepad and pen out of his pocket later and people will notice that he goes around the train confirming stops with everyone. Whatever feeling Hal may have had to a character back in town isn't noticeable here -- he is simply a robot assigned with a job.

After that, it's all a matter of settling in and enjoying the ride. If that's possible for you, at least.

[It's frustrating to be stuck on a train when you're used to running around rooftops. And it's still frustrating when you barely understand how a train works, let alone an inter-dimensional train.

He's... happy isn't the right word. Neither is relieved. He's certainly tense as he sits on the train, waiting for his stop. A part of him can't relax until he sees his uncle, and his... his friends again. He tells himself he'll go back to Monteriggioni as soon as he can to visit his mother and sister, but he also knows that isn't the truth. That's what he should be doing. He's sure the others are planning reunions or new adventures with their loved ones. Something like this is bound to have that sort of effect.

But he can't. Despite everything that's happened, everything that they've been through, he can't shake the goal he's had for 12 years now. A world where his family had never died, a world where he wasn't an Assassin, a world where he was happy... they're all perfectly fine wishes. But he can't even wish for a world where Rodrigo Borgia is dead. He must see his vengeance to completion.

It's funny, isn't it... Especially coming from someone who was so opposed to the idea of this game from the get-go. Yet here he is, simply looking over his weapons to make sure everything's in tact. That's all that matters.

He hopes the others here can have a more peaceful life, or at least some of them. But when they're gone, that will be that. That's how it has to be, if he's to move forward.]

[Here's another new experience.

Saying goodbyes.

There aren't many she honestly cares to have any parting or closing words with. She's a stranger to most of these people, just someone who was around town for a while. But there are some. Those she'll miss, those who's company and kindness she has truly appreciated.

Which is why she approaches Ezio.]

I imagine you've been ready for this to be over as long as I have.

I hope you don't think I want to get away from you, bellisima, but-

[He looks up from his blades, his smile more solemn than flirty for once.]

Sí, there is still much for me to do back home. I've been waiting for this to end since we first found ourselves in this game.

It's quite all right. Where I'm going, I won't be lacking in company. I will miss you, though. I'm...glad to have known you.

[There's no reason not to say as much, when this is the end. She will miss him.]

And I'm glad you're able to return to those things waiting for you.
