[ WEEK TWO ]

WEEK TWO

CURRENT POPULATION: 40

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

[She's been sitting quietly and listening to him play. It's not an instrument she's too familiar with, but she'll never say no to anything classical, and she nods when he asks his question.]

Can't say I've ever met a harp player before. You a big fan of Bach?

It is an under-appreciated instrument. Though naturally, I do have a bias.

[ He smiles pleasantly as his hands drift over the keys in a way that's almost fond, but he doesn't start playing again. He's been playing for a while, so taking a break for conversation is more appealing to him at the moment. ]

You can hardly be a lover of the harpsichord without also loving Bach, I'd imagine. There are pieces I prefer, but even in the height of its popularity, not many people specialized in composing for the instrument. [ He nods to the piano sitting nearby ] Considering the piano, I can hardly say I'm surprised, but I always enjoy the unique sound of the harpsichord.

What made you go for it instead of, like... Violin or something? Or do you play more than one thing?

[She looks at the harp curiously, leaning forward in her seat slightly.]

Beethoven composed for harp a few times, didn't he? Although, gotta admit I'm not really an expert in strings.
sating: (all the wailing plebian nonsense)

The particular sound of the instrument. The piano's clarity of tones is quite beautiful, but the plucking of a harpsichord's string and its unique sound appeals to be. I've tried many of the keyed instruments, and naturally the piano would be my second choice, but no violin yet.

[ He smiles a bit wryly and nods to her ]

Though that was simply for a lack of time. I never had the time to pick up the violin while I had my practice. Instead, I simply enjoy it in concerts when I have the opportunity.
