It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest.
On the pinboard in the railroad station, three posters have been chosen at random to list under the "Most Wanted" sign. Any character that passes the board by today can spot them, faces posted for all to see. This week's Most Wanted are:
The first thing to notice is that next to the train station today, is a new wooden town sign. Nailed down facing into the town instead of the tracks, it hosts a very simple description.
WELCOME TO WHOLE ASS POPULATION: 40
And ominously enough, the numbers seem to be able to change accordingly.
The second thing to notice is a new feature installed right out of the Sheriff's station. Nailed into the ground with minimal fanfare is a set of wooden stocks to hold anyone who might eventually be punished. There's three different sizes -- small, medium, and large -- which means it's pretty obvious it's meant to hold... anyone in town.
The third brand new thing is the train. It's completely changed overnight, going from a small rickety thing to a very polished and out of theme luxury train with even a few more cars being added on at the end. It gleams beautiful red and black in the sunlight and on the side the words WHOLE ASS EXPRESS can be read. The strangest thing too is that the train seems to be running, smoke occasionally leaving the front in small bursts.
Unfortunately, anyone looking to take a peek inside will notice that all the windows seem to be fogged up and all doors leading into the train are barred tightly and won't budge. Once in a while though, shadows can be seeing passing over the windows, as if there are people moving inside.
[ There's one more new thing to find in the middle of town. Like, directly in the middle. Right smack dab between the post office and the restaurant is a large bonfire, perhaps taller than the shops themselves. A bonfire that which the Sheriff seems to be adding the last touches to now. A small pile of kindling is next to his foot and he's tossing something else in right now... something that seems a little familiar, in fact. Wispy blue hair follows the toss and it looks, from a distance, suspiciously like a head.
But it couldn't be, right? Isn't she buried?
(Those who notice will see the grave undug, the body missing completely.)
The Sheriff will look up to anyone who approaches, giving a gruff morning in response as he continues to watch the fire burn. ]
[Where there's smoke, there's a fire. To be fair, Percy always thought that was simply an expression but now this morning while he's walking through the town of Whole Ass with Mrs. O'Leary at his heels, he comes across a bonfire and the Sheriff.
He hears the greeting, but his eyes are fixated on what he's throwing into the fire.
...and his eyes widen, though perhaps not for the reason the Sheriff thinks.]
...morning. Where's the rest of her. [The tone's low, but curious.]
[ papika has a very, very strong sense of smell. so it's really the smell of the fire that she notices before she even sees it. she approaches, covering her noise and wondering if someone is like cooking food very badly or something but no. that is not what is going on because there is obviously no one here who would eat people.
there are a few seconds where she just stares blankly, not really sure what she's seeing after he tosses what looks like a head in.
and then she just goddamn lunges at the sheriff because she is gonna punch the shit outta him what the fuck ]
[ And in general sheriffing manners, the Sheriff can be found all over town throughout the week. Sometimes bringing in supplies to the shops and restocking the inventory. At other times, sweeping the floor over at the homestead and taking stock of the animals.
But mostly, sitting in his rocking chair and carving pieces of wood while chewing tobacco. ]
[ Unlike CERTAIN PEOPLE who are trying to punch a robot willy nilly, Xion just kind of ... wants to spend time with him. Still. For some reason.
As early in the week as the Sheriff can be found chilling in his rocking chair, Xion will find her way over and curl up on the stairs leading up to the porch, tucking herself up into a ball and just kind of. Chilling out. She may not speak right away, apparently content to just be here, but eventually she'll pipe up with: ]
Do you like, um... [ what's the word what's the word ] carving?
[That....that sign sure is a thing... Barnham really can't help but stare at it, eyebrows drawn together, huffing out shortly.]
... Charming.
[THANKS FOR THE TOWN OF WHOLE ASS, GUYS...]
b
[So... he may have underestimated the heat. Or overestimated how much he could take. But Barnham's been in a full suit of armor for the past two weeks, and the heat is finally, finally starting to get to him.
In that he's kind of slumped against a building in the shade, arms crossed and brow furrowed. He looks almost like he's just deep in thought except he's...sliding...slowly...down the wall.
(Someone stick this boy in some proper clothing for this weather.)]
c
[Someone's gotta go check out the graves, and sure enough... Tiara's is all dug up again, body missing.
Seems like a waste of time and effort, but it's not like he doesn't understand burning young girls-- I mean. IT'S NOT LIKE HE'S HAPPY ABOUT THIS (really, he's not).
He frowns contemplatively, arms crossed as he stares at the empty grave.]
I wonder... does the fact that we have our own graves mean this will not be necessary? Or are we all to be burned when we die?
[It'd be kind of ironic in his own case, he can admit that.]
[ Chane, who had thought to change into setting appropriate clothes on day one, doesn't find herself especially sympathetic. But she swore -- on some inexplicable, chivalric impulse, likely Jacuzzi's influence -- to keep this man alive. So, keep him alive she shall!
She's brought him a cup of ice water and holds it out, saying nothing.
[Milla's usually calm and composed exterior has been rattled by her discovery of the Sheriff's. . . ah. bonfire, earlier on Monday. as such, anyone who finds her earlier in the week will catch her in a fouler mood. she's calmed down as the days crawl forward, however]
a.
[she's standing near the train station. . . more specifically, near the WHOLE ASS EXPRESS itself. her gaze is narrowed as she watches the shadows flicker beyond the windows, her arms folded contemplatively across her torso. she seems visibly irritated]
What do you think is in there?
[she asks no one in particular, but if you're nearby you can answer her if you wish]
b.
[and later on in the week, Milla can be found standing atop one of the boarded up buildings (the one labeled "doctor," specifically). she strolls across the rooftop casually until she reaches the edge, and props one hand on her hip as she peers down to the ground]
If it's labeled "doctor," then I imagine this building has all sorts of supplies we'll need for the weeks to come. There has to be an easy way inside. . .
[is she contemplating breaking and entering??? according to her wanted poster, that is a highly likely possibility]
c.
[wildcard option! hit me up at rogueclass if you want to plot something]
All that hullabaloo with Tiara's corpse is Just Fine, even if Xion honestly does not understand the problem. She won't be callous about it - people seem upset and she wants to sympathize - their anger just doesn't really make any sense to her at all. So she just kind of ... leaves the whole thing alone.
Either way, hey, she's got new threads! She's clearly been to the tailor. She's wearing ... exclusively clothes made for boys, and generally they are monochromatic. Dark browns if she can't find black. But her long black coat is missing, and will remain missing throughout the rest of the week.
Today, she can be found by the stocks, examining them curiously with Pluto looking Really Unsure About This by her side. If anyone comes up to her, she'll turn and ask: ]
What are these?
all week until thursday afternoon;
[ More wandering!
Though, for whatever reason, Xion does not at all go out of her way to avoid people this week. She just kind of hangs out in town, checking out stores (especially the boarded up mortician, because what the hell is a mortician) and talking to people she runs into, especially if she knows them. She couldn't be described as cheerful, but given how rough the weekend was on her, she seems a great deal calmer.
Find her at the railroad station frowning at the train and looking unsettled. The moment a shadow passes over one of the windows she'll point and go: ]
There it is again! Did you see that?!
[ She's not spending quite as much time at the graveyard, though she can still be found there in the evenings in front of her own grave just like last week. Curiously, she also seems to hang out near the Sheriff Station a lot. What's she doing?
No matter where she is, she always has Pluto with her as long as she's not at the hotel. When she is there, she spends a lot of time tucked away in the library concentrating intensely on a book. The book changes throughout the week, but the intensity of her concentration does not. At one point, this book is definitely just a big fat dictionary. She's reading the dictionary.
Incidentally - though the girl herself does not really spend time near the wanted posters this week - Xion's own poster seems slightly different somehow. What's up with that? ]
wildcard;
[ Want to do something else? Hit me up at izanagis! ]
Edited (I ALWAYS FORGET THE WILDCARD OPTION) 2017-01-23 18:14 (UTC)
These? They are called stocks. They are made for... [Tarvek gestures hesitantly with his hands] ...for restraining prisoners. It's very uncomfortable and cruel.
[ so after papika fails to beat up the sheriff (THANKS FOR NOTHING, LIZ!!!), you can find her at the homestead as she is trying her best to get away from the smell of the bonfire. she'll be doing things such as feeding apple slices to horses and brushing their mane, to just sitting around with the flowers.
she frequently keeps covering her nose throughout this though. seriously burnt flesh smells SO BAD SHE IS NEVER GOING TO GET THIS SMELL OUT OF HER NOSE. ]
tuesday
[ after the shock of monday dies down, papika actually decides to pay attention to the new additions of the town. maybe you can catch her examining the stocks, doing such things as like sticking her hands in them and frowning. or inspecting the train, where she just keeps knocking on the windows??? ]
Hellooooo! Knock knock.
[ they are rude and do not answer??? wow ]
wednesday+thursday
[ if you are walking around or headed to the general store, you might also spot her spending a lot of time just. sitting on the roof of the building?? she is a very good climber and has decided that she is going to chill here for a bit. you might even spot her napping up there which is probably a bad idea because sunburns are a thing that can happen.
or she will actually be inside, looking for food. she can be found inside the saloon kitchen doing the same thing. ]
wildcard
[ if you have any ideas feel free to throw something here OR hit me up at gatcha ]
[ Normally Xion might not notice her up there, but Pluto sure noticed for her and started to bark excitedly. Xion was just staring down at her down in open confusion until she actually looked where he was looking, and, well.
Now she knows.
Xion steps a little closer to the storefront, staring up in utter bafflement. ]
What're you doing up there? Actually, how'd you get up there?
[ After breakfast, Will can be found at the Watering Hole. He sits on the edge of the docks, pants rolled up to his knees and only a loose long shirt on top. Winston sits next to him, dutifully watching as Will finagles with a peace of metal he requested from the Sheriff. The metal, of course, is a crawfish trap and after Will has it settled, he slowly dips it into the water below.
After it hits bottom, Will pulls a piece of beef jerky out of his pocket and mindlessly chews it while scratching Winston's head. The dog settles, happy and the two of them watch the lake below. They seem pretty at ease, which means anyone's welcome to join them. ]
two, wednesday afternoon.
[ Will continues his feat of keeping to himself and talking to no one by sitting in the saloon today, with a deck of cards. What's he doing with that deck of cards? Why, playing solitaire, of course! How else could you be a grumpy lonely asshole otherwise...! He sits in the corner, a whiskey bottle claimed as his own as he shuffles the cards and lays them out. Winston sits under his chair and once in a while, Will drops a hand to scratch at his ears.
You're also more than welcome to join them here, maybe even force a game on him. He's too polite to say no to that, at least. ]
three, wildcard.
[ Will is still a reclusive guy! He's more reactionary than anything else so if neither of these fit, hit me up at claptrap for either something different or a private post or whathaveyou. ]
[ Chane does join him, but not for a card game. No, at this point, even that level of engagement is overwhelming. Rather, she takes solace in Will's lack of expectations, happy to just be able to sit without having to contribute to some greater conversation or intent. It's nice when people take the lead but it's even nicer when they're as removed as she is.
The conversation began and ended with a nod of greeting. Comfortably, Chane stares out the window, watching people pass by without any especial fixation. The faint shuffle of the cards and Winston's subdued breathing noises are soothing, there's no need to add anything else.
Anyone else who comes near them, however? They will totally get glared at. This is go away time. ]
[ Russell saw the bonfire, but he didn't really say much about it... People don't burn easily, true. It's very painful, and it takes awhile, so... Uh, the sheriff has a point.
It didn't really bother him... ]
I mean... We could still make graves for them... It just won't have bodies under them.
[ Like, some kind of memorial, or something! Who knows... Since people seem pretty upset the sheriff went out of his way to mess up the burial. ]
B. Wanted posters
[ BUT ANYWAY... Wow, would you look at that! When Russell passes by the wanted posters, he definitely noticed how his moved to the most wanted area...
[ Russell will probably be hanging around the hotel or the saloon! he'll definitely peek in at other places like the curious explorer he is... But overall, you can probably also find him sitting down trying to have quiet time, writing in his diary and junk. Feel free to bother him! Also hmu at my plurk or pm if you wanna plot. ]
[ You know the saying, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade?" Hannibal is definitely taking a variation of that today. When the Sheriff gives you fresh beef, make beef bourguignon. Even if Hannibal personally finds the apparent method distasteful, he's in no position to complain. He may prefer an ethical butcher, but it seems that they have to settle for the Sheriff if he wants fresher food. Life is hard. ]
i. [ Early in the afternoon, you'll find Hannibal busily at work. He'll be working on baking fresh bread first, then after that, he'll get a cut of beef that the Sheriff has so kindly provided and cube it. Neither is that labor intensive, but if you'd like to help or to simply chat, he'd appreciate both! They're laid back enough activities that he's quite open to talking while he works. ]
ii. [ On the other hand, later in the afternoon, he'll be bustling in the kitchen a bit more. From the baking bread to beef simmering in wine to the various vegetables being sauteed, it certainly smells delicious! Hannibal is definitely in his element as well, busily tending to all of the parts of his meal with focus, but also with a smile. It's easy to see that this is his passion. Of course, he is a bit busier, so if you're here to sneak food or chat, he might be a little more terse. In fact, as you're standing near a bushel of herbs, he might just speak to you— ]
Could you do me a favor? There's some twine nearby. Would you make a bouquet, please?
[ Looks like you've been recruited to be a sous-chef! ]
iii. [ But if you're not interested in chatting or helping out, you could always enjoy the fruits of Hannibal's labors. He's made a fairly large portion of the bbourguignon, so around dinner time, if you're mingling about looking hungry (or if you have been for a while), Hannibal has no problem in offering to share. ]
Would you like to join me for dinner? There is plenty to share, so you're welcome at my table.
wednesday, evening
[ You might have heard a small commotion earlier in the day as Hannibal goaded Will into moving some furniture, but. This will pay off for everyone, or that's at least Hannibal's personal opinion. It'd taken a lot of effort, but the hotel's lounge now has another musical instrument: an elegant harpsichord. Yes, this has been in Hannibal's room the entire time. It's been cramped.
That said, once the doors close for the evening and everyone is confined to the hotel, Hannibal will head down to the lounge. You're likely to hear him playing a variety of Bach, since it's his particular preference for the evening. You can interrupt (though it would be quite rude to do so), but if you're listening, Hannibal will at least pause at the end of a song to look your way. ]
Enjoying the music?
wildcard
[ Make up your own prompt! You can hit me up on plurk at yeezus if you have any questions, but otherwise, come at me ]
[ Of course she's listening and, of course, Chane's not interrupting. She had purposefully situated herself near enough to the music so as to prevent the likelihood of being disturbed. If that didn't work? Well, she has a book in her hands, and looks reasonably engrossed.
When Hannibal asks, she looks up, finding the distraction inoffensive. With a pleasant cant to her head, she nods.
And then, because he's engaging her specifically, Chane leans somewhat from her seat to pass along a neatly written note, ] Your playing is lovely.
[ Perhaps weirdly, Sara can't be found at the saloon today. Not that anyone ought to be looking for her, but if they even bother trying to, they'll find her near the homestead. With a sword that's kind of... bigger than she is, but that's fine, she seems to be handling it just fine. From the way she's swinging it, then trying different angles and very rarely switching her stance, it looks like training.
But as it is a big sword, please warn her before you go jumping out in front of her to say hello. ]
[ Wednesday, any time. ]
[ Not so oddly, Sara's back to her usual self-- which means she's either frequenting the saloon or loitering near the saloon, or... you know, going out and being productive by staring at that train like she kind of wants to break the windows. If you're of legal age, she'll approach you with a jaunty salute and an even more chipper: ]
Heeey, need a drinking buddy?
[ And if you're underage, she'll approach you with a jaunty salute and an even more chipper: ]
[ 'Sup, alcohol lady. Higekiri might have had the same idea as her involving sharp weapons. Or maybe he wanted to get flowers for Yuna, or eggs for Sei. Whatever, he's watching from a safe distance before calling out to her. ]
Hey! Are you practicing?
[ Higekiri always has his tachi by his side, so he might be waving it. Sheathed of course... but Higekiri don't hit someone. ]
Prompt closed to Jason but others can see them doing it, so ping moetan or _ayato + Squee if you think your character would intefere!
[Like the natural order of things, Damian convinces Jason to do some Bat investigation which, of course, includes a big helping of breaking and entering.
They decide to try their luck getting into the doctor's place bright and early Monday morning. Even without a lot of tools, they try to pry the boards away from windows and doors. If anyone hears a commotion, it's probably the two of them bickering relentlessly.]
Homestead
[While still piddling around the homestead, feeding and caring for animals, Damian also spends some time out in the pasture to gather the same flowers Yuna had been picking before. They aren't for him.
The skin from the deer he killed for meat for everyone else makes a mighty fine pouch, sewed from what's in the tailor's shop. He returns into town on the beige horse, Raet, with the pouch full of flowers.
Tough tree twine lets him tie it up to the bars of the jail; one bunch for each girl. Light blue, like the color of their hair.]
Graveyard
[There's no purpose to his presence in the graveyard. He wanders pretty slowly, not dazed, but intensely aware of everything. Studying. Searching. He pauses sometimes to look at headstones.
He probably finds the one with the cow, Tiara's grave. (He definitely finds that one.) When he does, he stands at it for a long time.
[Proper tools sure would be nice right about now, but seeing as how that's obviously not happening? The bent shovel from the graveyard will have to do. He'll try prying the board off first, trying not to finish hecking the poor shovel up. It probably won't be long until he starts trying to break the boards instead, however.]
Well— [JUST. PRYING AWAY??? This is not a job for a teenager and a 10-year-old.] If this fails, I guess we could always use the Sheriff as a sledgehammer.
throughout the week [Ever-dutiful and undeterred, Yuna checks the Hero Club request box sitting in the hotel lobby twice every day. She'll be following up on requests, of course, so feel free to leave those there, inquire about the Hero Club while she's out and about and/or checking the box, or just vandalize the box.]
monday late afternoon, homestead [Yuna spends most of the day out by the farm where the burning corpse smell doesn't waft so thickly, although being alone isn't much better for her. She goes back to the town to eat and to check the Hero Club box, but for the most part she's just...chilling. She picks some flowers. She pets a dog. She rolls around on the ground and gets grass stains all over her clothes. She is almost entirely unproductive and that's not doing much for her either.
At the moment she's lying in the tallest patch of flowers available, quiet and invisible and entirely unlike herself, too distracted to decide what shapes the clouds are like she meant to when she got here.
Aaand it's right about now that restlessness boils over and she abruptly sits up with a yell.]
Aaaaaaaaahh! Hero Club tenet! Try not to give up! So I can't stay here and— [WAIT NO SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT SUDDENLY POPPING OUT OF FLOWERS WHAT IF THERE ARE PEOPLE OR HORSES HERE] —oops.
[claps her hand over her mouth
flops backwards back into the flowers
bye]
wildcard [HIT ME UP IF YOU WANNA DO SOMETHING ELSE i am almost definitely here for it you know me, i can be pinged at nidorina as always!!]
Goodbye Yuna? Higekiri was cutting up some fresh flowers for things but now... Gently tosses them onto the flopped Yuna. Kneels down. Claps hands together. ]
[ The train draws his attention almost immediately, because its new red and black theming reminds him terribly of another train he's ridden recently, and the sudden change in appearance strikes him as very odd. Why bother with the train? They were already here. If it's up and running again, would it actually go somewhere?
Of course, when he tries to get in (and he does try), he can't get any of the doors to budge even a hair. It figures, so he spends more of his time staring through the glass and trying to make out who - or what - is moving behind the glass.
He'll be waiting awhile to get a good look, it seems. ]
[ B: ALL WEEK ]
[ The Homestead is somewhere that Harry had neglected during the first week, being out of the town proper and being farther away from where the "action" was happening. But after the events of last weekend, he'd rather spend as much time as he can convince himself to away from the town. Which isn't much, but the moments he's willing to spare there are about as close as he's come to feeling calm since they arrived.
Close to calm, but still miles away.
He doesn't let himself drift into idleness, though, instead taking the time to look around for any visible traces of magic - who was taking care of these animals, anyway? - and others lurking around the area. He doesn't want to let his guard down, and he'll greet anyone who happens to be nearby with a forced: ]
Some week, huh?
[ HE IS NAILING(?) THIS SOCIALIZING UNDER STRESS THING ]
1) RAILROAD STATION [ Having examined every nook and cranny of the train's exterior, Claire has determined that there's no way to get inside for now. He can be found standing on the roof of one of the train cars, looking into the distance. How did he get up there? Why is he up there?
Had anyone seen him a little earlier, they may have also noticed him carving something on the roof. It's impossible to see what it says from the ground, but should anyone climb on top as well, the answer will be clear. Yep, I completely wasted your time! ]
The Whole Ass Express... is haunted.
[ Actual quote in Robowest. ]
2) SALOON [ Look... he's had wildly different careers over his time, but he's never had the chance to be a bar owner. Not... that he claims to own this bar. But he'll serve you! And clean the table!
Most importantly, he's entertaining the patrons with some flair bartending. What better way to get your minds off nasty bonfires, right?? ]
Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this! How about an applause? Drinks are on the house!
[Shinnosuke is... not old enough to drink, nope, but he's not even at the saloon for that. Really, he's just here to look around lest more murders or whatever occur in this place.
But here, have some very sarcastic clapping, Claire.]
HOTEL. [ Late Thursday morning, a beast is leaving Rin's room instead of Rin herself, red clothing rumpled and arranged as if she had halfheartedly pulled it on. ]
Good morning... [ Mumbles the beast as it descends the stairs connecting the floors, black hair sticking up at awkward angles and eyes that seem to be the very opposite of lively. Dark pits of despair and decay. The beast is taking a seat nearby and is slowly pulling a box of cereal to her chest. ] What did I miss...?
[ Anyway, guess who's not a morning person, but usually just... manages to keep it in? This girl. ]
WILCARD. [ w/e come across her doing anything, let's go. ]
Looks like these days he's spending time in the Hotel, watching people come and go and keeping his eyes and ears open. But he can't just sit around and do nothing, he's not the type to do that. Tarvek would rather have something to do.
That's why he has obtained some wood, and looked for an appropriate tool for the task. He's trying to be a whittler now, apparently! But he still has a lot of trouble with his diminished sparkyness, he has difficulty envisioning what he wants to do and how to do it. Tarvek looks rather focused on the piece of wood, slowly carving it, but judging from the way he's sweating a bit and that frown he's not having a lot of fun]
How can some people do this...?
[Evening
Who'd have thought carving wood is so frustrating? At least he's done, and can move onto activities he knows better. Tarvek left on the piano the end result of his whittling - a small and somewhat mediocre wooden statue depicting what seems to be a soldier (?), with a crude carving of an emblem showing a cog with wings and a sword through it -- and sat in front of the piano.
He's...actually rather good at playing this instrument! He's by no means an expert, but it sounds nice and pleasant. Tarvek's looking much more relaxed now than before]
[She waits until he gets until he gets to the end of the song he's currently on before speaking, not wanting to interrupt him in the middle of playing.]
Didn't think you were the type to be good at that.
monday afternoon - hotel sitting room; [Sei is in dire need of a distraction. She doesn't want to be anywhere near the bonfire. She knows her limits, and she knows she won't be able to handle watching Tiara burn.
(Her knuckles won't survive another attempt at punching the sheriff, either.)
She's on the ground, with a variety of plaid shirts spread out in front of her. She knows she can leave a note at the tailor's to have something made, but - honestly, she'd rather do it herself, if she can. So for the moment she's spreading out the shirts and examining them, mapping out the shapes they'd make when she removes the seams and trying to figure out how to reattach them into rectangle shapes.
She's going to make the world's ugliest plaid haori if someone doesn't stop her.]
tuesday morning - homestead; [Old habits die hard.
The animals on the farm aren't her responsibility, but she tended to cows and chickens at the Shinsengumi headquarters, so she finds herself coming back here now. There isn't a lot for her to do, since they seem well-groomed and well-fed, but she lingers by the chickens and their feed.
...she's talking to them.]
It's not like I want him to be here, but it would be nice if he - [One of the chickens clucks, interrupting her, and she puffs her cheeks out at it.] Hey! That's not very polite, you know.
[Not only is she talking to them, she's lecturing them. She has reached new lows.]
wednesday afternoon - watering hole; [She has to admit - the rope hanging from the tree makes it a lot easier to climb up. She's not up on a tree branch "shedding other people's tears" for once, though; instead, she's leaning against the trunk of the tree, scribbling in the blank pages of her rulebook. She's quite intent on what she's doing. In fact, someone could probably stare up at her for several minutes before she realizes she's not alone and looks up with a start.]
Oh - sorry, have I been ignoring you..?! That was rude of me!
[She hurriedly snaps the book shut and clasps it to her chest, slides off the side of the branch to land on the ground in a crouch. Incoming!]
wildcard; [Want something else? Hit me with it here or message me over at hungriest to hash something out!]
[Here's a strange sight for anyone planning to have breakfast at the hotel dining room. A wolf with an eye patch, sitting on a chair at the table. With a large chef's knife from the kitchen held in his teeth by the handle. Just sitting there.]
[Ocelot is seated further down at the table, simply eating his eggs and toast with this normal knife-dog.]
[ When everyone wakes up on Thursday morning (or around 5AM, at least), they'll find Jason Todd currently locked up in the stocks. There's no lock keeping him in place but no matter what, the wooden stocks don't seem to budge. Looks like he's just stuck there for a while. ]
Shinnosuke will be examining the video camera—albeit from a distance for now, because he doesn't want to experience Jason and Damian's Adventures 2.0, please and thank you.]
... I know I brought up the possibility of cameras, but that didn't mean I actually wanted them, you know.
[ Xion will be here with Shinnosuke slightly after 9 PM Thursday night. For one reason or another, she's got a big video camera with her, sat on a table nearby. She'll be trying to flag people to come in, and tell anyone she manages to catch up with that they should grab whoever else they can that's still awake and inside the hotel.
She'll wait a while for as many people to gather as seems both reasonable and possible. Not until everyone is settled will she start speaking. ]
Hi everyone. We decided to call you all here because we found something earlier.
[ She gestures to the camera. ]
This camera was found on the porch of the Sheriff Station. It looked like it was recording, and Shinnosuke and I decided to take a look at it. We don't really know why, but this camera... it can let you see through all the cameras that are in the hotel. The kitchen, the dining room, this room, the hallway.... pretty much everywhere on this floor.
[ A steadying breath. ]
I wanted to put it to a vote what we should do with it.

The Sheriff will look up to anyone who approaches, giving a gruff morning in response as he continues to watch the fire burn. ]

THE SHERIFF
But mostly, sitting in his rocking chair and carving pieces of wood while chewing tobacco. ]
no subject
As early in the week as the Sheriff can be found chilling in his rocking chair, Xion will find her way over and curl up on the stairs leading up to the porch, tucking herself up into a ball and just kind of. Chilling out. She may not speak right away, apparently content to just be here, but eventually she'll pipe up with: ]

[ Well.
What are these?
all week until thursday afternoon;

The conversation began and ended with a nod of greeting. Comfortably, Chane stares out the window, watching people pass by without any especial fixation. The faint shuffle of the cards and Winston's subdued breathing noises are soothing, there's no need to add anything else.

[ Perhaps weirdly, Sara can't be found at the saloon today. Not that anyone ought to be looking for her, but if they even bother trying to, they'll find her near the homestead. With a sword that's kind of... bigger than she is, but that's fine, she seems to be handling it just fine. But as it is a big sword, please warn her before you go jumping out in front of her to say hello. ]

monday late afternoon, homestead
[Yuna spends most of the day out by the farm where the burning corpse smell doesn't waft so thickly, although being alone isn't much better for her.

Tuesday - Hotel Sitting Room - Morning

[Sei is in dire need of a distraction.
She's going to make the world's ugliest plaid haori if someone doesn't stop her.]
tuesday morning - homestead;
[Old habits die hard.
She has reached new lows.]
wednesday afternoon - watering hole;
[She has to admit - the rope hanging from the tree makes it a lot easier to climb up.
Incoming!]

Shinnosuke will be examining the video camera—albeit from a distance for now, because he doesn't want to experience Jason and Damian's Adventures 2.0, please and thank you.]
... I know I brought up the possibility of cameras, but that didn't mean I actually wanted them, you know.

She'll wait a while for as many people to gather as seems both reasonable and possible. Not until everyone is settled will she start speaking. ]
