WEEK TWO

CURRENT POPULATION: 40 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. [ the gross and wrong side!! if only he'd join ash for the glorious robot uprising. Unfortunately, Ash has already pretty much given up on him. ]

Besides, there's no petty material good he could award me that would improve my situation. I doubt that your oversized instrument will help you much at all.

Has he? [ Hannibal raises an eyebrow quizzically as he asks, because that hasn't exactly been his impression. He's actually frustratingly neutral, but Hannibal also doesn't realize that Ash isn't talking about the same thing here...

Though, to the instrument, his lips purse just slightly. It's not much more of a smile, but he does seem a bit more wry as he answers. ]

That would depend on how you define help. But I would assume you would not place much weight on the social and calming effects of music.

[ if he can modify the harpsichord to shoot lasers, missiles, or genetically-modified attack animals, ash will consider it helpful ]

Hm. Not in this place. And not with something so... antique.

[ he doesn't think he's ever actually seen one of these. and whatever might have been held in museums is long gone thanks to him. ]

[ At least the harpsichord being called antique doesn't surprise him too much, but it is somewhat rude. So what if it's old, Ash!! It's beautiful and refined!! But. That's neither here nor there, since the answer itself strikes him as a bit odd. ]

If not here, then where?

The humans here are too nervous for something like that to be truly effective.

[ of course, ash is imagining a more nefarious use for "calming effects" - lulling them into a sense of security and grouping them all together could have many uses, if he was still back home, trying to purge the planet... ]

[ Yeah, you've officially lost Hannibal, but at least he's not judging. Yet. He turns to look at Ash a bit more, though it does come with a light shake of his head. ]

That's an odd way to put it, so I don't believe we're talking about the same thing. What weight would you place on it?

Bringing people together, of course. If you need to deal with a large group, then I can see how music might be useful... but I don't think anyone will be interested in attending a little harpsichord concert when they've been snatched from their homes like this.
