WEEK TWO

CURRENT POPULATION: 40 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. Could just lock it up somewhere no one can get it. That takes care of the whole trust issue.

Wouldn't that mean finding somewhere we could lock it up? [Like. That's a good idea but he's really wondering where.]

[sweats]

If I recall, the Sheriff has some perfectly workable cells to use. We could also just bury it.

[hydrokinetics]

Will, how many dogs are in this town? [Just a pointed look.] Burying it won't do much good I don't think. And wouldn't the cells just be taking it right back to the Sheriff...?

[sweats]

[ He sighs. ]

Dogs don't dig things up like that, Percy. No, you bury it, make sure it's a three person job to dig it back up. Makes sure everyone knows where it is. If someone does manage to pull it out by themselves, it won't be a hard job to figure out who did it.

[ And a shrug. ]

Ask him. Aren't the cells open right now? We could just ask him if he'd keep it there overnight. He hasn't taken it by now, he probably won't take it at all.

[Will you've put a lot of thought into this, but okay, sure, that makes sense.]

When you put it that way, it sounds almost like we should bury it in one of the graves or something. [PLEASE DON'T?]

And I don't know. I haven't been to his station or the cells since last week when Tiara was there. I'd say "he hasn't taken it" because he doesn't know, but I'm not sure he doesn't know.

[sweats]

[ LOOK!!! He's just a naturally sketchy guy!! ]

Would be the best place to put it actually, yes.

[ Again, very sketchy!! ]

Why didn't anyone ask. If it's sitting out there and isn't explicitly against the rules in any way, why would he take it? Why not just ask him why it was there? He's said it before, his job is to assist. He doesn't actively hinder unless it's against the rules of the game. If we asked him to borrow his jail cells for a night to hold a camera, how does that break any rules listed?

The doors are locked and I'm not going back outside to hang around a graveyard and bury a camera. [But it's also not a bad idea so like. Maybe for the future? Since the Sheriff's going to unearth people they bury there anyway.]

I don't know, I only know as much as you know about this. That's a Xion and Shinnosuke question, but Xion did say he wasn't at the station when they were there. Or at least he wasn't outside or anything. Maybe he wasn't around to ask?

[sweats]

And I assume you're not willing to go to the station and offer the camera for the cells now either, huh?

[ Which, WEAAAAKKK but he's not going to say that out loud. He can hold his tongue a little. ]

... So, that means she just waited, for a while it looks like, with the camera to ask everyone else what to do with it instead of just finding the Sheriff and asking what the big deal was. What's the point of this?

[hydrokinetics]

Not with how everybody's acting right now. If everybody reached a solid decision, maybe, but too many people are unsure.

[Thanks, Will.] You'd have to ask her. I really, really don't know. Would you have gone to find the Sheriff right away? I think it's weird that he wasn't even around.

[sating]

[ Hannibal doesn't actually say anything, but he does give Will a brief glance. He hasn't said anything to anyone all day, and this is the first thing. Good job, Will. ]

[sweats]

[ He's also probably like, standing off to the side in the dark because he's antisocial and dramatic so really, fair. ]

[ Thoughtful. She's not completely against this idea, even if it means they can't watch it tonight. ]

[sweats]

The jail cells. You can also just bury it.

[ceded]

Well... maybe next week. It's already past nine, though. The front door is locked now. [ She gestures vaguely in that direction. ]

Unless one of us snuck out a window with it.

[sweats]

You really didn't think about this when you decided to have this conversation after curfew when, you know, all of us are locked inside without much ability to move around. What did you do, just sit there and wait?

[ Will, that was mean. ]

Either way, you're an idiot if you think no one's going to kill you if you sit with it alone all night. You're just writing your own suicide note right now.

[ Whoa. Xion looks taken aback by his abrupt and abrasive comments to the point of being both indignant and offended, but she takes a moment to at least process what he's saying before she replies. ]

I couldn't think of a quick or easy way to gather everyone before curfew. I knew everyone would be inside by this time tonight, so I decided to ask now. I didn't think about anyone suggesting we lock the camera up, no. Anyway, I'm not just going to let someone kill me! I can defend myself, and besides, nothing says I have to guard it alone. Dr. Lecter already offered to help me.

[ has

[sweats]

[ Will doesn't really like, think before softening his tongue. He's just sort of right off the bat mean.

But then she mentions Hannibal and he kind of makes a face like he just smelled something rotten. ]

Of course he did.

[ IMMEDIATELY TURNS AND LEAVES I'M SO SORRY BUT LOOK HE HAS SOMEONE TO TALK TO (it's not Hannibal, he is going to find Ezio) ]

Wh-- hey!

[ ... he's gone. What was that all about? Does ... he know Dr. Lecter? ]

[sating]

[ there he go

But here comes Hannibal, since he had been watching that exchange, naturally. He sighs a bit, but he places a hand on Xion's shoulder lightly. ]

Please excuse Will. He doesn't do well in crowds.

[ Or, like. Talking to people in general, but Hannibal is being nice. ]

[ceded]

[ That startles her until she sees who it is, and she looks up at him ... before frowning a little, looking away again. ]

He seemed mad. Maybe... I did this all wrong.

[ She sighs heavily, hugging herself lightly. After a moment, she glances at him again, frowning thoughtfully. ]

You two know each other?

[sating]

[ He shakes his head lightly, though it comes with a smile. The smile is fairly fond too, though who it's for isn't very clear. It could be for one of them, considering what he says, but it very well might be both of them. ]

No, you did not. Will is... [ Every time, he's not sure how to explain, so there's a slight pause. ] He is a dear friend of mine. And after knowing him for several years now, I promise you, he is simply abrasive with everyone.

[ceded]

[ Xion doesn't look entirely convinced, but she's willing enough to accept that explanation. ]

Okay. Dr. Lecter, do you still think ... this is a good idea? Should we sneak out and try to put the camera in a jail cell instead? Although... we don't know what we might run into, out there.

[sating]

[ It's... complicated, to be fair. He'll tell you later. Maybe. It's still complicated. ]

Each idea seems to have its own risks, certainly. I suppose my question would be about the camera itself, in that case. Assuming that we were to store it in a cell, we could lose the chance to see something helpful if something were to occur. But it is only a chance.
