It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest. |

What do you think it means by burning witches?
no subject
That's what Chane thinks it means. For someone who calls himself an Inquisitor, it's not much of a stretch. ]

But Barnhamilton seemed so nice...

Have you been doing this every night?

Speaking of -- through a quick gesture, Chane shows Rin where the plate goes after it's dry. ]

[ ...though now that she's seen it, she'll probably be helping most nights. With a quiet "thank you" she's putting the plate away in the right spot, then reaching for the next one. ]

Lemme guess... Lots of things on your mind?
[One day, he will perfect the art of reading Chane. But for now, he sounds tentative and unsure?]

Do you think we will all die here?

Should I just leave this on the counter? [Help him.]

Gently, she reaches to take the plate from him. She'll wash it, no problem. ]

Thanks. [That stare is a little unnerving, and it's enough for him to shift on his feet before:] Do you want some help? [Is that why the face? He has yet to realize this is just how Chane is, oh well.]

Sorry, Percy. You've been conscripted. ]

Do you think we could teach this horse some tricks and make a performance for everyone? I mean, look at all these animals, Chane! I could jump over those three cows!

There is a bridle and saddle hanging from the wall. Chane directs his attention to it. ]

[ translation: go for it, dude ]

Alright, just like we practiced. Chane, are you watching us? Shake hands!
[ Claire sticks his hand out, expecting the horse to perform the trick. Instead, the horse stares at Claire's hand for a few seconds and then...
...gently takes a bite. Ah. ]

morning
Today she has time, and so she makes her way over to the homestead with a bundle of carrots (that's what horses like, right?) only to run into Chane doing the exact thing she was planning.
She approaches them both, hand outstretched to carefully touch the horses neck.] ]
It's beautiful, isn't it?

At the question, she nods. There's a bit of softness around her eyes, like a gaze smoothed over.
Chane's hands haven't yet left the horse. ]

- Er, I guess I'll just...dry this, then.

Well, nothing. It's rewarded with nothing, because Chane is the worst. Promptly, she turns and sinks her hands back into the washbasin, starting on the next dirty dish.

It's up to you, young Padawan Potter, to keep the conversation going, apparently. ]

Still, he feels compelled to say something to fill the silence, if only because silence reminds him too much of death right now. ]
Um...another week, huh? [ HE'S SURE GOOD AT THIS ] I'll be honest. I would've thought we'd figured out a way to get out of here by now.
[ Always so cheerful, this one. ]
