CURRENT POPULATION: 35 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. Maybe it exists somewhere, but I had never seen one.

[The word sounds a bit familiar, but not that much. THe pizza doesn't look half-bad]

Is it common in your world?

Where I'm from? They have the best pizza in the world. [Says the biased New Yorker.] But you can get something like it pretty much anywhere. It's just dough, sauce, cheese and meat or veggies.

[But it sounds good, that's for sure. You know what, let him bring his own frozen pizza. It isn't like there's much to do in this town, trying this kind of stuff is bound to entertain him for a while.

But, uh, it's frozen. Tarvek knows food is bound to be frozen, yeah, but maybe this is a quirk of pizza he isn't aware of. May as well ask instead of making assumptions, even if he knows he's going to look like a really sheltered person]

Is this normal?

Not really. Frozen pizza exists but it's not as good as real pizza. I guess this was as good as we're gonna get, but I'm surprised this showed up at all.

[Well it doesn't seem like this frozen pizza thing is edible. May as well leave it aside and wait for his turn to warm it up on a shovel]

Yes, I wonder who among us was the one to ask for this kind of item. It's not the first choice many would have done.

What do you think the first choice for most people would be? [Call him curious.]

...I don't know. Food that doesn't need to be warmed up? If it were my world I think a death ray would be a lot of people's first choice.

[Because he imagines that the Sheriff and his people would target people like Tarvek: sparks and/or influential people]

A lot of things can be done with the components of a death ray.

A death ray. That's a pleasant thought. [A teasing grin.] You think he'd bother giving us the parts even if we asked really nicely?

He would, if only because it'd be useless for us now. The Sheriff... [Better not to go into extended explanations] ...he removed my skill to create technology.

It'd be worth a try to build something truly useful for us all out of all that, but I can't guarantee it'll work.

Huh? [Whoa wait a minute.] How can a skill be missing? Isn't that like something you just learn? [Powers he gets. Items he gets. But...skills?] How do you know it's really missing?

Because I can't even disarm the piano in the saloon. I should be able to build pretty much anything related to technology with ease, but I can't even picture well in my head what I want to do.

[Of course it's more complicated than that, but that seemed like the easier way to explain it]

What makes it even worse is that it's a genetic thing, not something I can simply forget.

Why would you disarm a piano? [Not the point.] Dude, you're not the only one missing genetic abilities. Some people have lost their ability to do magic and stuff, too. We still haven't figured out why. You woke up without it, right?
