It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest. |

[A few moments after Sei starts, Natalie grabs onto her rope and secures it that same way the other girl did, mimicking those movements. She starts following her down. She's never done this before, but she seems to at least not be doing horribly at it, either.]

They place is dark. Like, insanely dark only light coming from the hole at the very very top of the mines. As they get lower and lower though, the rock is going to smooth out. It turns from rough and chipped away to, well, stone. Smooth stone that slowly forms one perfect circle at the very bottom of the pit.
And that is what it is -- a pit. As they get closer to the bottom, about eight feet off the ground, a pebble will fall, a breeze will pass, and the rope holding them will snap. It leaves them falling quite quickly to the ground and when they hit, that's when they'll notice how weird it is down here.
As in, the ground. The ground is entirely covered in skeleton bones. It smells awful, dried blood and the like on the ground. Clothes still hanging off the skeletons at that. They were left here to rot, that's obvious enough.
To the side, to make it even better, is a giant pile of weapons. All covered in various amounts of dried blood and the like, it's as if they were all just piled there in a way to get them out of the way. Some of the weapons are fitting of the theme -- pistols, rifles, the like -- but others are stranger. Modern day AK-47s to medieval flails, you can find a bit of everything in there.
Oh, and they can probably make out Ocelot and Undertaker's dead bodies in the mess. ]

...is what Sei would yell if she knew anything about Christianity, which she doesn't. Instead, Natalie (and Milla and Chane if her voice will carry up that far) will be treated to a litany of generic expletives.
Which only grow louder once she realizes what is in the pit with them.]
What the hell-
[She makes a valiant effort at avoiding the skeletons, but... Nope. No avoiding them. And what the hell, those bodies look familiar...]
What...
[She stares, but then she spots the pile of weaponry, and, well.
...She's gonna loot it.]
no subject
-- are you all right down there?! What did you find?!
[she yells as loudly as she can as she catches her balance and rushes to the edge of the hole, peering down]
no subject
Fuck, fuck, fuck, oh my god. Oh, that's so gross, that's...
[She's about to answer Milla's question, but she sees Sei heading quickly towards the weaponry and focuses her attention that way for a minute. Her voice is shrill as she calls out.]
Hey, be careful, don't just run off to grab stuff!
no subject
... of --
Concerned, she looks over at Milla. ]

Skeletons and a couple of dead bodies!
[...welp. But then she looks to Natalie.]
Miss Goodman...
[Sei is trying hard not to breathe too deeply, because this smell is disgusting, but - she's dealt with dead bodies and blood before, so she's forcing herself to power through it. She looks up from the piles of weapons.]
Either they were killed and then dumped here, or they fell and were killed by something down here. I don't plan on being caught defenseless if it was the latter.
no subject
If it was the latter, then the priority should be getting out, right?
[But despite the contrariness, that actually makes sense to her, so she inclines her head towards the pile of weapons to let Sei know she won't stop her from getting one.]
no subject
. . . they found more corpses. [she repeats to Chane] Skeletons and dead bodies, Seizaburo says. I can hear them both talking, so they must be all right.
[and then she yells back into the pit]
Are they the skeletons or bodies of anyone who is a part of our group?

[She shrugs off her haori and lays it out so that she can bundle up some of the weapons in it. Why is this happening, I'm so sorry. She's definitely on the lookout for a second katana, since she's not used to just carrying one, but she's not going to pass up a shortbow or knives either. I'M SORRY SHE'S LIKE THIS...]
Are there any sorts of weapons you would prefer to have on hand, Miss Goodman?
[And then, up to Milla - ]
It's Mister Ocelot and...
[Shit.]
...I never spoke to the other one, actually...
no subject
[She isn't trained in any sort of weaponry at all, but that seems like it would be useful all the same.
While Sei roots through the weapons, she looks around the area more carefully. Is the only exit back up, or is there somewhere else they can go from here?]
...I don't know his name, either. Sucks.
no subject
[. . .]
[ah! she has to search her memory of the wanted posters to place a face to the name, but she's able to do it]
Ocelot. . . I think I spoke to him once or twice. He mentioned his own love for food in the first trial.
[and she never got to know him better :'( rip fellow foodie]
What does the other one look like? Perhaps we can identify them when we leave.

But what's strange about what Natalie finds is what she won't find! The place is truly a perfect circle, no blemishes on the smooth walls at all. The skeletons on the floor don't let up either, they seem to go down a... while. It'll be hard to spot the actual floor underneath all the bones.
Oh hey, but they can spot a flashlight in the pile. Closer to the bodies of Ocelot and Undertaker.
There's also no real way back up either. Yikes. ]

A good idea. We'll need more rope to bring them back up again. One of us should stay with Natalie and Seizaburo, though. Just in case.
no subject
Well.
Sei hands a knife off to Natalie once she finds one, then ties off her haori by the sleeves and hefts the bundle up over her shoulders. She can't quite make out what Milla's saying from down here, so she surveys their predicament and tries to figure out what to do.
...spotting the flashlight by the corpses, she picks it up and tries to turn it on. Is it working? If so, she's going to see if she can spot exactly how high up the rope is, where it snapped.]
no subject
While Chane and Milla talk about getting more rope and Sei fetches the flashlight, she takes her pickaxe in her hand and aims it at the smooth rock towards the bottom of the pit, wondering if she can create some makeshift handholds to get part of the way up.]

no subject
On the other hand, Natalie, you really shouldn't have done that! Like, really, because the moment to pickaxe hits the stone -- it shatters. It shouldn't shatter, that doesn't make any logical sense, but it shatters into a bunch of little pieces and the ground underneath her feet will begin to, uh, move.
As in, she's starting to get sucked down into it sort of like quicksand. The skeletons are sucking her in that is.
But haha, that's crazy, right? There's no way that's really happening. ... Right? ]

[She flinches when the stones shatter, reaching forward to pick up one of the shards, before... Ah. That sure is happening. She starts breathing quicker almost automatically, struggling (which is the opposite of helpful) to get out.
Either way, her voice is clearly and understandably panicked when she speaks. Of course sinking into the earth wasn't bad enough, there had to be gross skeletons touching her too??]
No no no no no. Nope. Oh my god. Fuck, okay, you wanna give me a hand? Seriously, I could really use one right now! [Then she looks up towards the top of the hole.] And more rope would be awesome right now!
[In the meantime, she's looking around for anything she might be able to use to pull herself out and away.]
no subject
...Horrifying, actually, and even more horrifying is the fact that it seems to be centered on Natalie. Sei nods, then darts over and grabs for her wrist.
She tugs hard, trying to get a firm enough grip to pull her up and out.
(Trying, being the operative word.)]
Shit...!
no subject
Chane went to get some new rope! What's happening now?!
no subject
Also, Chane's back now. Hi. ]
