[ WEEK THREE ]

WEEK THREE

CURRENT POPULATION: 35

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

I used to tell stories like these while I was a conductor. My coworkers never paid attention, but it was a hit with the passengers!

[ That doesn't really explain anything. ]

Why did you bring it up anyway?

[yeah that's nice claire]

Based on conversations I've had about it before in this place, it might be something unique to my world. Therefore, I thought I'd ask to see who else might be from the same place as me.

If you really want the details, then sure, I can tell you.

[He's unfortunately intimately familiar with the disease.]

You should know I don't tell jokes, I'm not very good at them.

[ Intrusively, but also playfully, he slings an arm around Shinnosuke's head. He's remarkably strong for someone who sounds like a buffoon. ]

Like I said, from the beginning!
insincerely: ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ. (no let's not do karaoke again)

Geez, it's not even that interesting, you know...

[Or at least he can't imagine that hearing about it is all that fascinating when it's not about your own world.]

Basically, an illness of unknown origins broke out ten years ago. A girl afflicted by the disease will, without warning, start spawning a "labyrinth"—think like a dungeon from an RPG, or something like that, complete with monsters and traps to get in your way. The appearance of the labyrinth differs from victim to victim... It seems that it reflects the girl's heart, be it a tower, a school, a forest, etc.

Anyway, the labyrinth spreads, and until it stops, it swallows up everything and everyone in its range. To undo its effects and save the people, you have to infiltrate the labyrinth, as if you were being transported to another dimension, locate the girl, and kill her—like the final dungeon boss—under the time limit. Otherwise, it becomes what's known as an Eternal Labyrinth, which is pretty much what it says on the tin.
