It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

I'm okay. Natalie was really badly hurt when I found her, though. Dr. Lecter is with her in the clinic. She'll ... be okay, but it was bad, Jason. Really bad.

Thank god. [One found, one to go.] You did your whole Paul Revere skit. Now let's get you to the clinic, too. You can fill me in on how you guys found Natalie on the way — and if you know anything about Seizaburo.
[Though he can guess they only found Natalie, from the wording.]

[ why does everyone use references she can't understand
Either way, she just. Lets it go, and she'll continue to lean on him as they head back for the clinic. ]
Seizaburo ... he's still missing. I mean, he wasn't with Natalie. I found her underneath the floorboards of the clinic. I guess there was a tunnel down there that she came up through. And-- [ wait, that just processed ] I'm fine! I'm not hurt.
[ she says, limping. ]

[History and pop culture 101 will happen once things stop being on fire. But for now, he gently tugs her in the direction of the clinic, frowning at her.]
Not hurt, my ass. We're getting that foot of yours looked at. No buts.
[Tfw the babysitting tables are turned. If she doesn't cooperate, he's not against lifting her up and carrying her there. Love yourself, Xion.]
I figured there was a tunnel under the clinic. When Damian and I opened that place up [assuming it's common knowledge], there was some kind of sensor coming out of the ground. It sunk down once we disabled it... so whatever's down there must connect to the mines.

[ It's both a warning and a whine, given her tone, but she lets it drop. She knows he probably won't leave her alone about it, and given the way it's increasingly starting to feel, she ... probably actually is hurt. Which ... isn't good.
Panic is a hell of a drug.
She watches him with some surprise as he retells the clinic exploration story. She'd heard they'd explored it and basically gotten blown up for their troubles, but the sensor is new. ]
Like ... a machine? That's weird. I know I didn't see anything like that. I wonder if Natalie did.

Scrunching his nose at the memory, he nods.]
Yeah. It was shaped like a box? A murder box — but it had this red light on top of it. If the light caught you, it'd send out a weapon. That's how I got injured. Damian broke the sensor, I think, but... [Recalling what she mentioned a minute or so ago:] ... You said Natalie was really injured, right? Could be she ran into that thing. Or something worse.
