It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

[ There's a far leap between not taking something favourably and maiming a person for knowing their secrets, but Chane doesn't look especially alarmed at Hannibal's underwhelming description. Rather, there's a quiet and calm sort of understanding in her expression. After all, she gave up her voice to protect someone else's secrets.
That's not to say she's without sympathy. Like most of her reactions, such a thing is simply muted. ]
Regardless, Chane is one to get invested enough to pass judgment. If his patient is okay with it, then... well, it's still weird, but a happy ending is a good thing? Honestly, Chane has no idea what the appropriate reaction is here. What manifests is tried and true composure, the sort you only find in French women. ]

It's something I've been wondering about, though in not in the "how" so much as the "why". What this place may be. What it may mean. With a wall of our faces, all sins and scars laid bare, what is the purpose? It has not helped us so far. I honestly wonder if it ever would.

[ Prying, perhaps... but she sees no harm in answering. It's not as if it will mean anything in the long run. This is a closed space, and nothing that came before it seems to matter.

I was assisting with a delivery. Felix was not with me.

It's quite all right. It left me with a scar, but nothing more or less. And it coincidentally became quite helpful to my patient.
