The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.
An assistant can be a big help, though! My father was a doctor... he said he did his best work when he had someone competent assisting him.
[She smiles a little bitterly, though, at his question.]
I'm not sure I'll ever really get used to it, but... I'm glad I had something to use as a crutch, at least. [She pats the hilt of her trusty katana, which has stopped being an instrument of murder since she got here and is now more of a cane these days.] ...I'm just happy to be alive, honestly.
I didn't know any doctors, but I grew up with a circus for a while. There was a young woman with no legs at all, and because of that, her upper body strength was better than anyone's. I watched her lift a bear countless times.
[ Despite his horrific attempt at trying to cheer Sei up, there's some fondness in his eyes as he recalls the old days. Also, he lets the yo-yo spin near the ground as he continues: ]
What I'm trying to say is this - you now have an opportunity to exceed expectations, to rise up and be better than the rest. Sometimes, when things go down--
[ Suddenly, he pulls the yo-yo back up and catches it in his hand in a flawless motion. ]

except he suddenly bumps into Sei as soon as she speaks out. ]
Whoa! Hi. ... We gotta stop meeting like this. [ On day of murders he means!! But on the other hand, it's nice to see her more alive than last week. ]

...you can say that again. But at least neither of us is bleeding out this time. [yeah.....] Thank you for your help last week, by the way.
