The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.

[ Well, it's a head. Of course it's a fucking head, what do you expect? It's Lust's head in particular.
Also, there's a crow in front of it. It looks up when Barnham approaches, eyeball clutched between it's beak. It swallows the eye immediately, letting out a petulant caw and then flying off.
If he looks, both of Lust's eyes are missing. Damn crows. ]
[ papika, at least, does not scream. she just freezes to stare for a moment at the head and then at the crow that's flying off, and then back at the head. she grabs onto barnham's arm before starting to walk towards lust's head. ]
I-- where's the rest of her?
[ PLEASE DON'T MAKE THEM DIVE INTO THE WATER FOR THE REST OF HER?? ]
[Ahhhh christ. If there was one thing he wasn't expecting, it was his roommate's head on the end of the dock, missing her eyes just like that. It's gruesome, and for a long moment Barnham's frozen in place.
He'd promised her he'd protect her, because she'd been tired of this game, and had wanted to live.
Slowly, his hands clench into fists, and Papika's hands on his arm snaps him back to himself, and then he moves forward as well.
They have to see what else is going on here. It's...all he can do for her now.]
[ There's more cawing as they approach the edge of the dock. If they look around, they'll see the beady little eyes staring at them from the trees around the lake. Crows, everywhere, just watching.
One of them seems to be standing in the water too. Sort of.
Not necessarily the water but the leg floating on the surface. As they look around, they'll be able to see a few things floating -- just... body parts, all over, scattered in the water. All female too.
Looks like someone got chopped up into itty bitty bits.
Oh, aside from that, there's a glint of red underneath the surface of the water. Swimming, anyone? ]
[ oh my GOD she is going to throw up. her hand immediately goes to cover her mouth because. they seriously drew the short straw here, what the heck?? ]
We, um, we need to... get all of that... out?
[ SHE SOUNDS LIKE SHE WOULD PREFER IF THEY JUST KEPT IT IN THE WATER?? but then she notices the glint, and she kneels down to get a better look. ]
Hold on. [ WELL GUESS WHO IS LEAPING INTO THE FUCKING CORPSE FILLED WATER THAT SHE WAS JUST GROSSED OUT BY TO CHECK OUT THAT RED GLOW BULLSHIT ]
[He'd also really rather not go fishing for corpses?? Except then Papika is DIVING RIGHT IN THERE AGH.]

It's not like he can leave her there in corpse water--what if there's something legitimately dangerous down there?--so he has to go into the corpse water as well. He doesn't dive though, he's a little classier than that.
Into the water he goes, reaching for her arm just in case.]

He sighs as she comes back to the surface, and then proceeds to grab her by the back of her shirt and bodily lift her back to the dock. There u go, Papika.
[That's fair because Barnham also feels like he's going to gag. Once he's fetched every last one of those body parts from the water, he drags himself and the net full o' limbs out onto the dock again, setting it down next to her head with a sigh.

While Papika looks over Simon, looks like it's Barnham's duty to look over Lust('s pieces) and see...if maybe she didn't die via dismemberment??
