The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.

[It's a somewhat unusual occasion that Shinnosuke raises his voice, which you know means that he actually feels something about this as he runs after Noct.
God, he hates not being able to see anything. Still, he'll be reaching towards the nearest person not named Noctis and, with some blind fumbling, trying to feel for a pulse.]

[the words barely come through as she finally awakens with pained groan, but the light is too bright and she keeps her eyes squinted shut. her head lolls to the side as she tries to move, but any attempts at doing so result in searing pain streaking through her still bruised ribs and the new coyote-gashes she sports on her arms]

While Milla is waking up peacefully after being gently shaken awake, the same cannot be said for Jason.
Which is to say he's jolting awake, yelping in pain thanks to a certain someone being a shitty friend, and more or less slamming his head into Shinnosuke's face.
