The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.
[annnnnd barreling her way down that bloody path leading from the stocks to the clinic is Hurricane Milla, one hand gripping the hilt of her sword. she's moving semi-fast, though her obvious injuries (bruised torso, plus some brand new gashes which have long since stopped bleeding on her arms) are slowing her down. every so often she trips in the dirt, though she always manages to correct herself and catch her footing before she faceplants]
[she's yelling. loudly]
Russell-- RUSSELL! Answer me! Yuna, she's--
[choo choo there's a train coming through, heading towards the stocks/Sheriff's station, what do you do??]
[shinnosuke can have a buddy for this. a buddy who is full of dread for whatever this day holds, because it's always bad.
but hey.]
I probably won't walk you into any walls or anything today. [a little humor to lighten the pit in his stomach, maybe? what does this hold, we just don't know.]
[ papika also has... zero intentions to do body searching this week and is only heading towards the sheriff station since that is where they usually do the announcements?? but then she sees ash near the bonfire and. walks over to him.
hi ash. he gets no sassy reply today, just a nod. ]
Well, when they get to the bonfire they will probably see a coat and a pair of shoes folded neatly and sitting at the edge of it. They're definitely a woman's too. ]
[ Well, if she looks like she's been running, it's because she has. Rin also has a shovel held in one hand, and she's... well, she looks cold and angry. ]
Hey. [ She's calling out to get everyone's attention, or at least anyone who is... nearby. ] I'd stay away from the graveyard. That guy found his wife there. She didn't make it.
[ Whoever managed to do it is uh, probably going to be in for a bad time. ]
[Yo, here's Shinnosuke (without his walking stick, since it's still in the clinic, oops). The bottom half of his pants are covered in blood, don't mind that.
Flatly:]
Russell and Yuna are dead. I don't know how, so don't ask me. [Though he's pretty sure he has an idea.] One of the others will probably explain later, when they're done losing their shit.
Ana Amari is dead. [Rest in piece, grandma. Justice will hopefully rain from above.] Her body was dissected, and the organs were removed. They were scattered through the hotel.
Parts were in some people's rooms. Those who are already dead.
stocks
She looks panicked as she runs towards the area, and she'll be immediately looking around to see what, and who, is there.]

Hopefully is still there, lord above.
HOW LUCKY ARE THEY TODAY]

Russell is still in the stocks! But he seems to be slumped over a bit, head hanging down and hair in his face. Someone wanna come take a look? ]

WHEN SHE FINALLY GETS THERE after who knows what else happens Barnham's gonna...
... Well just kind of look up from where he's sitting next to two dead children???
And then he slumps back down again.
Yeah.
