It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

[ papika doesn't spend too much time in the graveyard, mostly since, at this point, the whole town kind of feels like one. today though, she stops by; she wants to leave some flowers at sara's in particular.
when she spots xion, she immediately heads towards her. ]
[ papika's smile twitches at the mention of the sheriff. unsurprisingly, her opinion of him has not gotten any better even if she has learned to stop trying to attack him every time he opened his mouth. ]
It's... cute. [ it is, so. that's not a lie, even if it is papika scrambling to find a way to compliment something involving hal. ]
... I guess I feel bad. He made this for me. It took him a while. He said he thought I'd really use it. But ... now I just kind of want to burn it. That's probably terrible, huh...?
[ she has not been able to forget the sound of his laugh as Seizaburo died in her arms. ]
He did something nice for you, but... I don't think that makes up for all the bad stuff. You shouldn't force yourself to hold onto something that's now more bad memories than good, I think.
You're right, [ she says, with some relief and a faint, crooked smile. ] But ... I'm not forcing myself. Maybe it's just too pretty to burn? I don't know. [ A sheepish laugh. ] I guess it's pretty obvious I haven't been able to make up my mind.
... this is the first time I've been here in a while. The last time I was here, it was to leave flowers, too. For Riku, and Annabeth.
[ So -- it was a bit of a joint venture with Percy. ]
But I can't really make it up to the homestead anymore to pick flowers. [ Still, she tries to smile at Papika. ] That was nice of you to do, though. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.
Seizaburo. [ That's the grave she's sitting in front of right now. ] Yuna, too. I can't get flowers, so ... I've been leaving little drawings, instead. [ And those would be the slips of paper she's placed on a handful of graves. It's there in front of her, on Seizaburo's. ] It's not much, but it's all I could think of to do.

What's that? [ the flute. ]

The question makes her glance down at her flute, and she picks it up, turning it over in her hands. ]
It's a flute. .... the Sheriff carved it for me. [ said with a bit of a frown. ]

It is cute. I thought it was the nicest thing, when he did it.
[ There's a lot of regret in her smile as she looks down at it. ]
I don't know what to do with it anymore. Part of me wants to get rid of it, and part of me just can't bear to.

[ she remembers seeing xion hanging around hal's porch often, back in the beginning. ]

[ she glances back at the flute. ] You'll probably eventually know what you want to do with it.

[ She ends up holding onto it, not setting it back down on the ground. ]
So, what brings you here, Papika?
[ Xion can make a guess, but, honestly, there are just so many graves one could visit, now. ]

[ she glances at the grave xion's at. ]
I don't come here very often.
