[ WEEK SEVEN ]

WEEK SEVEN

CURRENT POPULATION: 8

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

[is there anything more sad than Barndad losing his righteous indignation over the course of six weeks :(]

[either way, Milla's reaction to the loss of the post office is also pretty mild. she doesn't sigh, but she does watch the flames dance around with a neutral expression, her arms crossed]

I suppose he thought they were being too helpful.
moraled: (Why does it hurt when I try to kill it?!)

[He nods to her tiredly in response; once upon a time they were all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and eager to fight the sheriff but now they're all dead inside.

It's the only logical possibility, either way.]

Indeed. And now our avenue to speak with them is gone.

[It's a little heartbreaking, really--less for him (since he still hasn't written any letters back, like a punk) and more for people like Percy, who he assumes was writing to Annabeth.

It's sad.]

[it is sad, for Milla too, who had taken the opportunity to write some letters. she can only hope they reached those in the graveyard before the Sheriff torched the place down]

We're on our own from this point forward. It may be disheartening, but we can't give up.
moraled: (everyone knows the earth is flat)

[Don't give up, don't give up--their rallying cry.

He wonders how long they'll be able to keep saying it before there's nothing left to persevere for.

Either way, for now it does the trick; he straightens his shoulders.]

Right.

There is much yet that we may do, and we know well now that those beyond are counting on us.

[one day, Milla might learn that not everyone is as insane as she is when it comes to picking themselves up and Dealing With Bad Shit. this is partially why she is bad at comfort!! although she feels like she's gotten better at it thanks to this place]

They are. And I'd hate for them to see nothing but defeated spirits and melancholy while they watch us. Wouldn't you?
moraled: (so damn smooth)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-02-28 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Milla...... where do you get that strength. He blinks in response to that, before slowly, he nods. Really, he doubt the graveyard is all too concerned--maybe a little, but they seemed to be in decent spirits from their letters before all of this.

But he gets Milla's point.]

Indeed. And there are others here...who still deserve to see the hope that we have for the future.

[Like poor Papika, and Damian, and Percy and Noct (and basically everyone but Ash, fuck that guy)]

[poor Ash, nobody wants to hug the robot]

I'm glad to hear you still talking about hope.

[she says with a bit of a smile]
moraled: (Proceed to customer service with)

[...Well. He can't help but smile as well, if tiredly.]

Our numbers may have been thinned, but there is little other recourse now. We must see this through to the end--whatever end it may be.

[reaches out to give his upper arm a comforting pat]

In the meantime, perhaps we shouldn't. . . ah. Get too close to the flames?

[also watching the post office burn to the ground is kind of depressing]
moraled: (pleas pet dog)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-03-03 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
... Indeed, I believe you are right.

[It's way too depressing. He shakes his head quickly, turning away sharply.]

Much of the town is still standing, after all.

[If, you know...depressingly empty.]

[she turns on her heel as well and heads for. . . where else? the saloon. it's their usual meeting place, after all]

Fortunately. I doubt the Sheriff sees much of a need in burning down the other buildings.
