 It's time to go.
Most people are on the train by now. Settled into their cabins and among friends and loved ones. There are only three new arrivals left to board and once they do, Hal pulls a conductor's hat out from underneath the bar, tugs it on, and steps around it to the middle of the train. He opens his mouth to talk, voice filling the train.
"It's time to go. Stops happen once a day until everyone's departed and I already have your stopped listed. If you'd like to be prioritized, let me know, otherwise we'll go in order of death. Settle in and enjoy the ride. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, folks."
This, of course, means that those who died earliest (Manfred, Higekiri) will depart first while those who died latest (Barnham, Damian, Percy) will depart last. There's a stop for everyone, though those who want to get off together are more than welcome to. Hal pulls a notepad and pen out of his pocket later and people will notice that he goes around the train confirming stops with everyone. Whatever feeling Hal may have had to a character back in town isn't noticeable here -- he is simply a robot assigned with a job.
After that, it's all a matter of settling in and enjoying the ride. If that's possible for you, at least.

He didn't want to do...more than that.
Now that he's here, he's finding that he has no idea.
His brow furrows a little, and he sighs softly, shaking his head.]
I... do not know. I suppose I did not, at any point, think that far ahead. [Could not let himself think that far ahead, really.] I...
... Well. I do have time to think about it, I suppose. [If that bit about them getting off the train in order of deaths is to be believed.]
Have you decided for yourself?
no subject
[It's tinged with sarcasm, and followed along by a huff that comes out as a half laugh.]
...I'm hitching a ride with Percy to his place, so. Guess we'll both be chilling here for a bit while we wait.
no subject
Is that so? With Young Percy?
[Well then.]
Excellent. I am...glad for that. I shall hope that your life in his world shall be pleasant--and... that you shall look out for him, as best anyone can.
no subject
[A small shrug, but there's something about her expression that betrays some of her excitement regardless.]
Yeah. Xion's coming with, too.
no subject
Ah--does it?
[CAN YOU BELIEVE NOBODY HAS TOLD HIM THIS ALL GAME]
I... see. [huh.] Good. Take care of Miss Xion as well. I... she deserves to live a proper life.
no subject
I'm not seriously the first person who's mentioned this to you, am I?
[yikes]
...She does, yeah. More than basically anyone else here.
no subject
Er... yes, you are. No other person has seemed particularly bothered by it...
[WHOOPS]
... Though I will not disagree with that. Miss Xion, Mister Shinnosuke--Percy, Noct, Mister Todd, yourself...you all deserve a better lot in life than you have been given.
no subject
[so kind]
Yeah. Shockingly, this isn't an experience I'm really eager to repeat, somehow.
no subject
[Much less again.
He shakes his head.]
Though I may not have the right to say this... You did well, Natalie. You fought hard to save those you cared about, and to protect those who remained.
You should be proud of your bravery.
no subject
You don't have to say that.
no subject
[Calmly, placidly, he shakes his head.]
But it is what I believe. And I wished to say so, before our time here is through.
no subject
Thanks, then. And... Whoever it was, I'm sure you made it fast, so. You know.
[She won't thank him for killing anyone, even if he had no choice, but she can at least be glad they suffered less than if it were someone like Ash.]
no subject
[HE FUCKING FAILED WITH SHINNOSUKE THANKS SHINNOSUKE.]
Though it does not make it better. I am aware of my crimes--we all are.
[It's...not fine, but it'll be okayish maybe.]
Perhaps, in some twisted way...this is something to learn from going forward.
no subject
[A raised eyebrow.]
If you're going to be all self deprecating, you could at least hide it better.
no subject
...Ah. Well.
Yes, I suppose that is true.
[He shakes his head, running his fingers through his hair.]
I apologize... I am still attempting to come to terms with my actions...myself.
no subject
[But.]
Just remember that none of us had a choice. Not really.
no subject
[What he did--he chose to, but... in the end it was still because of the game.
He'll try to remember that.]
I shall keep that in mind.
[While trying to sort out his own thoughts here.]
... There is a great deal I owe to the others here either way--this is not something I could have accomplished alone.
[Despite his best attempts at doing just that.]
no subject
[But she knows that isn't what he meant, so—]
What're you gonna do about that?
no subject
Indeed... though we all know that had I been chosen for death, that would have been it.
[BUT HERE THEY ARE.]
Nonetheless... I suppose I had ought to thank them. I did not wish to presume my company was wanted right now, however.
no subject
[#thanks hannibal
Either way, she tilts her head.]
Honestly, I'd be surprised if basically everyone didn't want to talk to you after what happened.
no subject
To see his duty through.
Thank goodness it didn't come to that.
He looks at her blankly at that, though. ???]
... I... cannot imagine why. In truth, that we were able to end this game in such a way is due to the actions of people such as you--for removing Doctor Lecter from the game when he could have ended everything in a terrible way--and Percy.
no subject
[She would probably do it again if she had the choice, but all the same. More importantly, though:]
I don't really envy you. It can't have been easy to make it that far. Also, it's because people care about you, so don't be stupid.
no subject
[That's all he can admit, honestly.
He still thinks killing is horrible too, so he's on the same page. Though he blinks at that.
... Oh.]
... I. I suppose that is true.
[WELL THEN]
I did what must be done.
[Unfortunately.]
I cannot regret that I was able to see it through, if nothing else. [Even if he's so tired.]
no subject
[A shrug.]
You're allowed to be pissed it had to come down to what it did, you know.
no subject
Perhaps it would have. Perhaps not. I fear to think what the outcome would have been had Doctor Lecter won the game.
[So... really, he was relieved for Natalie's actions.
He has the right to be pissed...? Yeah, maybe. His lips quirk for a moment, wryly.]
I believe I am too tired to be angry, though I certainly was angry at first. I wished to find another way, but...the Sheriff did not lie. And that we could not allow for a group ending was... another entirely unfair rule, but I--
[Ugh. The worst.]
... Perhaps I am a little angry over it still. [Shocker!!]
