 It's time to go.
Most people are on the train by now. Settled into their cabins and among friends and loved ones. There are only three new arrivals left to board and once they do, Hal pulls a conductor's hat out from underneath the bar, tugs it on, and steps around it to the middle of the train. He opens his mouth to talk, voice filling the train.
"It's time to go. Stops happen once a day until everyone's departed and I already have your stopped listed. If you'd like to be prioritized, let me know, otherwise we'll go in order of death. Settle in and enjoy the ride. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, folks."
This, of course, means that those who died earliest (Manfred, Higekiri) will depart first while those who died latest (Barnham, Damian, Percy) will depart last. There's a stop for everyone, though those who want to get off together are more than welcome to. Hal pulls a notepad and pen out of his pocket later and people will notice that he goes around the train confirming stops with everyone. Whatever feeling Hal may have had to a character back in town isn't noticeable here -- he is simply a robot assigned with a job.
After that, it's all a matter of settling in and enjoying the ride. If that's possible for you, at least.

[He clears his throat and glances at her. From out of his pocket, he pulls her bookmark. He still has it.]

Her eyes light up when she sees the bookmark, though, and she claps her hands together and holds them to her heart.] You kept it! To tell you the truth, I wasn't really sure if you'd like it, so I'm really, really happy you did!

It serves its purpose. [He's gonna keep it because fuck you. It's his!] Your knowledge of flowers is... adequate. [Impressive, but he sounds dumb saying that, he thinks.]
no subject
Yuna is entirely undeterred by this, though, smiling as bright and wide as she ever does at the compliment.] Thanks! I really, really like flowers, so even though I have lots to learn, I want to know a lot about them! [And then, in a moment of realization, she goes a little wide-eyed and then starts patting at her pockets.] That reminds me, I have something for you!

His face is pretty much ???????? as he watches her pat her pockets on the hunt.] How? You were on the train after you died.

[For a moment, the look on her face isn't quite uncertainty—that's not really a thing Yuna does—but she needs a moment to decide how to best explain herself.]
I have a Hero Club at home I'm gonna get to go back to, and they're really important to me, too. We've done a lot together.
[Too because she loves the Hero Club she's founded here with all her heart, loves everyone who'd joined it like she loves the girls waiting for her when her stop comes.]
...A little while ago, I got really, really sick, and they weren't really sure if I'd wake up or not... My friends wouldn't give up, though, and they still visited me all the time. It didn't matter how small the hope that they'd see me again was, so long as it was there at all. In the end, since I always knew deep down that even if I was far away, they were still right by my side, I could come back to them. And when they visited they brought me a few presents, like this!
[And it's now that she takes a small bookmark from her pocket and holds it out in front of her; it's made of a yellowish flower pressed on a green backing with a matching ribbon. It's neater, a little more professional-seeming than the collection of bookmarks Yuna made, but she clearly drew some inspiration from the style. She puffs out a tiny sigh, as close to embarrassed as maybe Yuna is capable of being; she rarely ever talks about those sour memories already passed, not wanting to be worried for, but she wants the gesture to have more meaning behind it than just being any old parting gift. She couldn't give this to just anyone.]
It isn't much, but it's still important to me, so I really want you to have it! I want it to remind you that I'm always with you, too. [A tiny giggle, light and sincere, before she adds:] I just hope you have more than one book you need to mark a place for at a time!
WTF COURTNEY I HATE YOU
Damian's face screws gently up. Not in disgust. In a way that says he isn't sure exactly how to proceed or what to say. On one hand, ridiculous; on the other, humoring a girl who doesn't really "know any better," in his opinion.] You should give those to someone else. [Someone better, but Damian already thinks he's the best, so he can't say that!!!]
I-- [God, he feels like an asshole for refusing. Will she just end up crying?? Don't girls always just cry if something hurts their feelings? He thinks about Maya, and HE HATES THIS. He hates girls. All girls all the time.
With a low, sharp huff, he extends his bookmark out to her.] Fine. But there's an ultimatum for me taking it.
You have to take mine back and keep it.
💖 💖 💖
I don't want to take it back, though. [Her head tilts a little, and she's smiling, but she looks a little confused.] It's not supposed to be a deal or a trade... They're just presents for my friend! And I made that just for you, too, so I don't know what I would do with it...
[While she isn't pushing the bookmark in her hand at him, she hasn't let it fall, either. Confused as she is, there still isn't any offense or judgement to her tone at all at her next question; she doesn't understand, so she wants to.] Why do you want to give it back?

Suddenly, he reaches out and snatches the green bookmark somewhat more gently out of her hand. In turn, he replaces it with his own by slapping it against her palm while holding the back of the same hand.
He shoves her hand toward her as if to tell her to keep it, it's her, whatever. He doesn't want it.] Why do you think?
If I have to remember you, then it's only fair you're required to remember me.
[To not forget. Don't forget him.]

but then she beams, bringing her hand and the bookmark gently up to her heart.]
Then there's one more part of the deal. [Not that she didn't have every intention of asking about this anyway, but as long as they're phrasing things in requirements and ultimatums—even so, she's smiling so bright and warm.] You have to let me write you letters sometimes, so that way I can make a new one for you!
wtf every time i try to hurt you, you just double your efforts????
GOD.] ...Fine. I'll write you letters sometimes. [It's hilarious to, every week or two, get a letter:
...blew the entire thing up in one shot. Kent's son is a moron. I don't know why Father and Kent insist on making us work together. He's brash, stubborn, and doesn't know how to control his powers.
Therapeutic, and it will never cross his mind. Like a journal, and maybe what he needed.]
hero club tenet try not to give up bitch
[SHE HAS A LOT OF FEELINGS AND SHE LOVES DAMIAN SHE HAS TO WRITE SO MANY LETTERS!!!! In that ever-so-earnest way of hers, Yuna puts her hand to her heart again.]
I'm really happy! I'm going to miss seeing you, but I won't have to miss you as much if we can still talk sometimes.
