 It's time to go.
Most people are on the train by now. Settled into their cabins and among friends and loved ones. There are only three new arrivals left to board and once they do, Hal pulls a conductor's hat out from underneath the bar, tugs it on, and steps around it to the middle of the train. He opens his mouth to talk, voice filling the train.
"It's time to go. Stops happen once a day until everyone's departed and I already have your stopped listed. If you'd like to be prioritized, let me know, otherwise we'll go in order of death. Settle in and enjoy the ride. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, folks."
This, of course, means that those who died earliest (Manfred, Higekiri) will depart first while those who died latest (Barnham, Damian, Percy) will depart last. There's a stop for everyone, though those who want to get off together are more than welcome to. Hal pulls a notepad and pen out of his pocket later and people will notice that he goes around the train confirming stops with everyone. Whatever feeling Hal may have had to a character back in town isn't noticeable here -- he is simply a robot assigned with a job.
After that, it's all a matter of settling in and enjoying the ride. If that's possible for you, at least.

Well then.
[hot damn!!!]
I am quite impressed.
[LIKE...REALLY...]
no subject
It's.
[how does he explain this?]
I knew something was up after I talked to Percy. [as in, he had a feeling he was at death's door, which is why he could accept his death as he did.]
...I didn't want to leave without regrets, in case... you know, something went wrong.
[or else he probably. would not have found the courage to actually confess his feelings or kiss her in the first place.]
....This is embarrassing.
no subject
... I certainly understand that.
[That was his reasoning with Sara all along, but--]
... And so? Do you have regrets?
[Any at all? He highly doubts, somehow, Noct regrets kissing Milla with the way they are now.]
no subject
I came pretty close a few times. But... I think when it's time to go, I won't have anyway.
[he gaze shifts away slightly—there's something more there to that, to be certain. barnham has dealt a lot with the princely, and even kingly side of noct. he's dealt with the noct who had been through many hardships and losses.
but he hasn't really ever dealt with the side of noct that is kind of shy and smitten—for anyone aside from luna, of course.]
no subject
But.
It also was...an opportunity.]
In a place such as this, I believe we should do all that we can to...avoid any possible regrets regarding those we've met here.
[He's decided that he's sticking with Sara, yeah--now that he's gotten to talk to her about it.]
no subject
I... take it that means you worked things out with Sara?
[he knows. about them. it's fine.]
no subject
I suppose it was not all that subtle... [SIGH] Yes, we spoke, and I believe have come to an agreement.
[even though sara tried to friendzone him by accident.]
no subject
[so he's known the whole time.]
Good thing, though. I'm not the worst wingman, but it's probably better you worked it out on your own.
[noct: definitely a better wingman than actually getting the girl himself, even if it worked out this time.]
no subject
Did she.
[A snort.]
Of course she did. That is just like her.
[SARA....]
... Regardless... we simply had not had the proper opportunity to speak in some time. [...] Or...at all, following...that.
[You know.
Kiss and dying is rude]
no subject
[which is obviously way more than noct really ever needed to know, but now that it's out in the open, he can tease barnham about it just a bit.]
Told her I'd just take her word for it, but I guess now you've got some time to make good on it, or whatever.
[now that all the dying nonsense is over.]
no subject
Wait.
No???
No?
What.
WHY?
You're going to have to forgive him because Barnham is just burying his face in his hands and sighing a heavy sigh.
What the hell, sara]
no subject
[that was pretty much his reaction, too.
honestly.]
no subject
I suppose I should not be surprised by that either. Sara will...do what she chooses to do, after all.
[He's fond and exasperated in equal measure.]
no subject
[he's still having embarrassment from sara trying to tell him to get a room and snuggle with milla.
it's... fine...]
no subject
He knows.
He sighs again.]
I fear I shall have my hands full with her.
[Except he's okay with this in a weird sort of way.]
no subject
Can't really argue that. She's... a handful, and that's without me having to, you know.
[kiss her. not that it's much different with milla—but milla does know a little more of when to stop teasing him at least.
usually.]
no subject
[JUST STOP, NOCT, YOU'RE NOT MAKING THIS BETTER.]
...Regardless, this is the path I have decided upon, so... I suppose I shall simply have to grow used to this.
no subject
he's hopeless about himself, but not terrible otherwise.]
Bet you'll get used to it eventually. You... like her a lot, right?
