The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for mod replies. Anything to discover will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.

Have you heard anything from anyone about who is missing? [After a moment, he carefully squats down to let DD smell his hand and greet him.] It's the girls from the jail, isn't it?
no subject
Don't know yet. Might have to circle back to the hotel and knock on a few doors just to see who's been sleeping in before we can use process of elimination.
[DD wags so hard his whole back end wiggles.]

But I think we should check for people first instead. [Slowly, he stands back up.] I surmised the girls in the jail would be used as bait or a trap. They didn't come with us, and they were held captive. It's suspicious.

If there were anyone nearby, DD would alert to them; it's what he's trained for. So far he's only noticed you in this area.
[Whistling's not a bad idea. He does just that. Within moments, a few of the more quick-learning horses he trained earlier come trotting towards them.]
You ever been horseback riding?
no subject
Yes. [He glances at DD, somewhat glad the dog isn't just a show or lap dog. What a good boy. His attention returns to Ocelot. So this is the man he's seen here and there with the horses. Handling them, but he had watched for a while just to make sure, and then went on about his business.
Carefully, he picks his way through the ones that came, searching. Near the back, still wandering up is a beige palomino. He reaches out to pet the horse's neck, then looks back at Ocelot.] Her name is Raet.

She picked up on whistle commands pretty quick. She's a good horse.
[Picks a saddle and blanket off of the fence and puts them on a white andalusian horse next to him.]
