The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for mod replies. Anything to discover will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.

[ANYONE???]
It is not as though there is far to go here.

[SO. YEAH. He bites his lip, glancing at Rin's grave first and then his own.]
You don't think she's the one who— y'know...
no subject
There are suspicions, and nothing more.
[But... it seems possible.]

[ Shaking like a leaf, Xion sniffs and rubs at her face with her arms. ]
We don't matter at all.... and those two girls, they -- they mattered even less. They didn't even get a choice...

[He doesn't lose his dire expression, but merely moves closer to Xion, as if to comfort her.] We have to figure this out. We have to band together if we're ever going to get out of here. They see us as nothing, but... We have to make that change!
[TEAMWORK or something]

like she is really crying. hiccuping and gasping, the whole works.
... but despite that, she nods furiously at his words. ]
We .... we have to .... we have to make this right!
no subject
[He shifts in closer, placing a heavy hand on Xion's shoulder and hoping it isn't unwelcome. Softly, he continues:] Hey. Can I tell you a story?

[Tarvek internally sighs in relief when the other grave doesn't have the other girl's corpse inside]
no subject
[How could they forget?]
However, allowing our minds to be clouded with half-formed judgments shall prove fatal in a place such as this.
We must find the truth; there is no other option.
no subject
[It's... definitely a possibility, which only makes him feel ill. Ugh.]
Let's focus on finding her alive first, I guess.
no subject
We must not leave any possibilities unchecked.

[Shinnosuke's smiling like a douchebag, though it doesn't seem quite as smug as usual.]
There's at least one place that I bet no one's investigated. [...] Of course, it's still possible that she's the murderer and she's hiding there instead. Who really knows yet?
no subject
[Seriously. They dug up his grave and shoved a corpse in there. Why not use Rin's, too, since it was also disturbed.]
... You mean the mines, right? I don't think anyone's headed up there since we got here.
no subject
[At the next bit, he nods.]
And it's no wonder, with all those warnings. I doubt anyone wants to go searching there unless they have to.
no subject
With all those warnings, she might already be dead down there. That place looks like a death trap.
no subject
[He looks around.]
There's only forty graves here, after all.
no subject
[At that, he looks at the graves again. His grave was touched. Rin's was...]
Motherfuckers. I bet they think they're hilarious.
no subject
[He closes his eyes for a moment.]
Of course they'd go for young girls, huh?
