The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this: One of your own is gone. And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate. Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for mod replies. Anything to discover will be indicated during the course of the thread. After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. [ Sara's too cool to gawk. But as she arrives, taking a quick look at the-- well, the everything, she can't even pretend to force cheer. Instead, one hand balls into a fist and she curses, not exactly under her breath. ]

So, someone decided to go ahead and play this game of theirs, huh?

It occurred more quickly than I expected.

I probably should have expected it. [ and she says this tersely, because of course she should have. Why had she ever believed they'd all decide this wasn't going to happen?

... Except she hadn't believed that, not completely. And now Ao is dead. ]

... Not that that's going to change anything now.

[...Yeah, this sucks.]

... Our task is also not yet done.

There is a murderer in our midst who must be brought to justice.

And in the end, we'll be killing someone else.

[ ... Ugh, she already wants to drink. ]

I guess this puts an end to any hopes that this game isn't real, huh?

I have to wonder if anyone really believed it wasn't.

[ Because people can definitely be murderous assholes. ]

I wouldn't be surprised if a few held onto their naive beliefs that no one would actually kill.

As long as they hold onto the belief that they won't kill, we can probably narrow down the suspect pool pretty quickly.

Except for the part where anyone can lie, at least. I mean, I can yell all I want about how I'm a great guy, but...
