The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for mod replies. Anything to discover will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.

i.e., Yuna probably slept in through the investigation because of course she did but it's hard to miss all the blood, harder to miss all the commotion over by the graveyard so she rushes over, shoves her way through people best she can (for someone so small she is surprisingly strong and, as such, good at shoving), just enough that she can see—]
Ao? Ao?!
[AW FUCK]
No, no! Ao!

Yuna--
[extends her arm as a blockade]
Don't come any closer. Don't look.

Sh-she was locked up all week, why would—why would anyone—

Some people in the world are cruel and selfish. That is how it has always been.

[it's okay Yuna, cry it all out. you deserve it]
. . . I'm sorry you had to see this.

[ Xion might be shaking, but Yuna freaking out seems to steady her. She goes over to the other girl's side, a warding presence. ]
... I'm so sorry.

nailing it]

Yuna starting to cry makes Xion break down in tears again, too. She tries - she tries so hard not to, because Yuna is so upset and clearly knew Ao better, but she wraps her arms tightly around her friend and tilts her head back to the sky and starts to hiccup. Without even thinking her hands rub Yuna's back, up and down, slowly. ]
I'm sorry.... I'm really, really sorry... Yuna...

between hiccups, Yuna manages:] Wh-why would anyone...why would they, she'd been locked up, she di—didn't do anything...
[She doesn't let go of Xion, but she does lift her face, sniffing and shaking still.]
Miss Tiara—sh-she was locked up, too, did we...find...

... It should be, anyway.
But he doesn't, and instead he looks surprisingly somber.]
... Maybe you shouldn't be here right now.
no subject
[She probably shouldn't be here, and it's a good effort on Shinnosuke's part (in his defense, she'd be way worse off if he took the snarky route), but Yuna doesn't get any farther than stumbling a few steps back, clamping her hand over her mouth, and starting to bawl.
SO YUNA'S HAVING A GRAND OL' TIME]

... She was probably intended to be a sacrifice from the very beginning.
[He pauses, before he reaches to put a hand on her shoulder. His expression doesn't look sympathetic, but, again.]
So you have to stay strong... right, Miss Hero Club? This is just the start, after all—and weren't you planning on helping everyone? You can't do that if this alone gets to you like this.
no subject
But Shinnosuke puts his hand on her shoulder, calls her Miss Hero Club, reminds her what she'd wanted to do from the start. She hiccups and wipes at her eyes, clearly struggling to pull herself together but putting forward one hell of an effort.]
Shinnosuke-kun... [sniff sniff] If Ao's here, then has anyone seen Miss Tiara?
no subject
[She could be dead, or she could be the murderer, he thinks but won't say right now when it seems like Yuna'll fall apart if he does.]
Somebody probably would've mentioned it, or brought her along, or at the very least, we wouldn't all be gathering here otherwise.
