The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for mod replies. Anything to discover will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.
A door that was the opposite direction of where we needed to go! If someone had still been alive over there and needed help, those few seconds could have made all the difference!
...and who cares if there's glass in my hair? I don't!
I'm glad we have no misunderstandings, then. You really might want to check before you go around breaking things, though; it might make you look suspicious.
Yes, and I know what you were doing—though I actually can't guarantee you weren't trying to hide any evidence by breaking that window or anything—but not everyone's going to know, every time you do this.
[He's right and it's really aggravating. Sei presses her lips together into a thin line, but then she catches sight of the phone he's using to take pictures, and she blinks rapidly before pointing right at it.]
Sei looks between the screen and the crime scene, as if she might actually find a difference between the two of them, but... nope, that's a pretty accurate representation of what's there.]
...I don't understand how that works, but by all means, take as many pictures as you can!

[She's going to once she cuts herself on it.]
no subject
... Yeah, don't expect me to patch you up once you get injured.

There's nothing suspicious about trying to get somewhere as quickly as possible to help out!

[UGH.]
You have a point.

...what's that?
[CHANGES THE SUBJECT.]

A phone?
... If you're going to tell me you don't know what that is, I'm not sure I want to explain it.

All you need to know is that I'm taking pictures of the scene, just in case we ever need to refer back to it.
no subject
[Well, she knows what that is, at least.]
But that's so much smaller than the cameras I've seen! And do you have the glass and chemicals you'll need to develop them?
no subject
But you're right in that I can't print anything out. It's saved on my phone instead.
[And because a picture is worth a thousand words, he'll press a few things and show his phone screen to her: a photo of the scene is displayed.]

[God. God, no.
Why is she acting like this is going to happen again? This isn't supposed to be normal. It's not.
Sei sort of looks like she might throw up, having realized what she just said.]

[He watches her for a moment, before:]
Hey, we don't need vomit around here. Maybe you should sit down or get away from the scene for a bit.

[She'll just shuffle off to calm down - and will come back for Yuna's call to action.]
