The town is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all chatter, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. A tumbleweed passes by through the center of town and the rocking chair on the Sheriff's porch sways but remains silent. Everything is muted and as the door of the hotel opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:
One of your own is gone.
And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.
Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for mod replies. Anything to discover will be indicated during the course of the thread.
After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at robowest.
[Elizabeth crouches down as she steadies herself to climb into the grave. All the while, she's been looking for signs of a tear, even though that didn't go as intended last time...it's instinctive, and her best way to help. But same as the rest of the week has been, there isn't one in sight.]
She was a prisoner? Did she say what she was in for?
[In they go... The hole is only three feet deep, at least, so it'll be easy enough to pull Ao's body out without getting stuck down here.]
She didn't know, from what I heard. I don't think anybody knew what she was here for, except the Sheriff. He kept saying they had a "purpose." Asshole.
[He should have tried to get to know her before all of... this. Ugh. But as he helps Elizabeth lift the body into a sitting position, he notices something. Furrowing his brows, Jason's going to gently grab Ao's hand and lift it so Elizabeth can see the palm.]
[Elizabeth takes a closer look at the hand she's being shown, her brows furrowing as well.]
That's a strange injury to have along with the one on her neck. Do you think it could have been self defense? Otherwise why would the murderer attack her hands?
It could be. She might have brought her hand up to cover her neck, and then...
[She died anyway. He can't help but to feel guilty, like he could have done something to stop it. Ugh. He lifts Ao's left hand next, just in case, and finds a similar wound. Not as severe, apparently?]
She has another injury here. Unless her killer slashed her palms up for the hell of it, you might be on the right track.

Same as the rest of us, the poor girl...what was her name?
