[ WEEK TWO ]

WEEK TWO

CURRENT POPULATION: 40

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

[Sometime after Barnham discovers there's a cow carcass....]

I've been wondering the same thing. [He's standing with his hands in his pockets, eyes on Tiara's grave and somehow strangely unbothered.] We know there's something in our graves but we don't know why. Sheriff wasn't much help when I asked him about the burning either.

[WONDERFUL COW CARCASS...]

I fail to see why we should have graves at all, if we are simply to be burned either way.
hydrokinetics: (Cannot seem to find my way home tonight)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-25 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
He said we'd learn more once there were more bodies and that he was burning them for our sake instead of theirs. Not sure how I feel about that either. [Hm.] Think the graves are just for decoration?
moraled: (classic foot soldiers)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-01-25 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Or intended as a warning--the possibility is there.

[He's not happy about it though.

Gross.]

Either way, I cannot say without any evidence as to their purpose.
hydrokinetics: (Then they'll say to me say to me)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-25 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
How do you think we can get that evidence then? [He's not a prosecutor or even a detective, but he's interested in helping solve things where he can.] The only thing I can think of is digging up the rest of the graves and that seems like a little much.
moraled: (Doggos and snow)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-01-25 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
There is no need for that, no.

[He shakes his head.]

It may be related to our true purpose here. There must be a way to discover more--without resorting to "wait and see" as our only strategy.
hydrokinetics: (It could leave)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-25 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Mr. Barnham, that's never been my strategy. [Which is a problem but you know what whatever.] Asking isn't getting us anywhere and neither is waiting around. For all we know, our answers are behind one of those locked and boarded buildings.

...could ask the Sheriff to open those, I guess. See what he says.
moraled: (knitting is a kind of bondage)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-01-25 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yeah he kind of figured.]

It certainly could do no harm.

[SO...why not?]

The worst asking the False Sheriff could lead to is his refusal to tell us. That does not set us back in the least.
hydrokinetics: (Then they'll say to me say to me)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-26 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
It kind of sets us back since we'd have to come up with another plan around him, but that's kind of what we're already doing. He's been unresponsive in his answers so far, it's a bunch of "wait and see" stuff. There's no telling how many people will have to die before he decides it's time to share with the class.
moraled: (classic foot soldiers)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-01-26 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Presumably, he never shall.

That is unacceptable.

[He shakes his head.]

We shall have to discover the information we need to know on our own merits.
hydrokinetics: (Textbook version)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-26 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hmmm....]

Have we checked his office lately? He might have some books or papers or something stashed away we can look at while he's out.
moraled: (Proceed to customer service with)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-01-26 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a sensible plan.

[GOOD JOB PERCY.]

Let us inspect it the moment he may be out--perhaps someone may distract him.
hydrokinetics: (your train of thought's been derailed?)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-27 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
[...hm.] We make a pretty okay team, you know that? I hate to say it but if something happens again this week on Friday...we can check it out then? I bet he won't be in his office after that.

[You know, while they're all potentially running around looking for a dead body. Pleasant.]
moraled: (Proceed to customer service with)

[personal profile] moraled 2017-01-29 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Certainly, that is an excellent plan.

[IT'S A DATE, PERCY.]
hydrokinetics: (you're better off trying to freeze hell)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-01-29 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Mr. Barnham, he likes you a lot but he already has a girlfriend. Thanks though.]
