[ WEEK TWO ]

WEEK TWO

CURRENT POPULATION: 40

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

The Sheriff is a clank, so there may be other clanks around, hidden from our sight. That'd be the easiest explanation, I think.

[...just in case, since other people have asked what it means and Tarvek really isn't used to using other terms...]

Clank means robot, by the way. If one like the Sheriff can direct this game, then making some clanks to take care of this place would be quite easy.

[How many robots are there in this town, and where could they hide? That's the big question]

[ It's a good thing Tarvek explains the slang, because Harry's never heard that one before. ]

But why keep them hidden? They're up front enough about what the sheriff does. [ It just doesn't quite add up. ]

[Tarvek raises a finger, but says nothing. Oh]

...you're right. That wouldn't make any sense.

[He touches one of the cows, it feels...feels pretty real]

Do you think it'd be worth it to get someone to stay here for a couple days, just to try to find out what's going on with this place?

Maybe, though they probably shouldn't stay alone. Secluded place like this...well, you know.

[ IT'D BE A GREAT PLACE TO GET MURDERED ]

It should be fine as long as it isn't done during Thursday night. There's no reason for anyone to kill outside of the Sheriff's schedule.

[Any killer would want that reward thing. Little reason to murder, otherwise]

I'm willing to stay here, it doesn't matter if it's alone or with company.

That's a fair point. [ Good thing they have scheduled murder hours??? ]

If you do, will you let me know if you see anything unusual?

Of course! I can't promise I'll see something unusual, but you'll be the first to know if this leads anywhere.

[You get all the credit for the idea, Harry]

There must be something to find in this town, something that could help end this 'game' before too many lives are lost. Even details that seem unimportant may end making the difference.

Thanks. I appreciate it.

[ But then he nods. ]

Right. If there's a larger mystery here to unravel, the sheriff - or whoever - will be careful to cover their tracks so we don't stray too far from what we're supposed to be doing. [ YOU KNOW. Murdering each other. ]

I'm not saying to go into the mining shafts right now, or even consider making preparations for that, but do you think there could be something useful in there? There must be a reason why it's so dangerous.

That's exactly what I've been thinking. I don't know if there's a safe way to explore them, though, since it's a part of their set-up.

[ At least if someone died while in there, it wouldn't be murder.

What a grave thought. ]

What do you know about mines? Like safety procedures and the such? I have never been in one, all tunnels I knew were carefully built by its owners.

[And protected with monsters and sometimes traps, usually. There better not be a monster in that mine]

[ His brow creases. ]

Not exactly, but I've been in a place like a mine. [ Of course, there was a lot of magic involved at Gringotts. ] They had a lot more safety precautions set up there, though. I wouldn't know where to begin without magic.

[personal profile] dubiousalignment 2017-01-31 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Magic.

[He knows everyone comes from different worlds, but Tarvek isn't sure if Harry means magic in the sense that it's...well, magic, or if it's something else called that. Who knows.

Tarvek looks skeptical, at least]

[ It's not the first time he's gotten this kind of reaction, but he still isn't used to it. ]

What? Is that so hard to believe?
dubiousalignment: (61)

[personal profile] dubiousalignment 2017-02-01 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Many things can be called magic. In my world I don't think magic exists, but the crazy technology we have could be considered magic by some people.

[That's less of an attack than 'magic doesn't exist at all']

[personal profile] expelliarmed 2017-02-01 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ No, no, that's fair. ]

My world's got a little bit of both. I still think it could've been magic that brought us here in the first place, though not any kind I ever studied.
