It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

It's spying, but with something like this ... no one could sneak out of the hotel without the rest of us realizing it. We could try and stop the murders...

Well, Mr. Sheriff hasn't burst out of nowhere and yelled at us for touching the camera, so we're probably not in trouble if we keep it.
[And then they find themselves in the stocks with Jason tonight—]
But there are a few problems. Even putting aside the rules of this game: this doesn't catch people leaving through their windows, which would likely be their exit on Thursday night anyway.
Another problem is the matter of who. Who gets to keep it? If we run on an honour system where we leave it out in public, someone's inevitably going to steal it.
[Shinnosuke has absolutely no faith in the populace, tbh.]
On the other hand, who should be the one to keep a tool that can be used for spying? [He lets out a light laugh.] Though that crosses me off the list already. No one would trust leaving this in the possession of trash like me.
[ Xion absorbs all of that quietly, watching him with a thoughtful and somber look on her face. Given that she was the one to raise the issue of the unlocked windows, that's a point she can't deny. ]
That's true. But if we assume something like that, there isn't much point to a camera like this, is there? At least, not for us.
[ Xion sighs as she thinks it over, her brow furrowing. ]
I think ... we should bring it back to the hotel and tell the others. We could put it up to a vote and decide who we think is best to keep an eye on it. ... as much as I hate to say it, I think you're right about it getting stolen, so ... it's better if just one person hangs onto it.
[ A beat and she adds, quietly, ]
But I don't think you're trash, Shinnosuke.

On one hand, telling everyone would mean that we get more input, and we could foster a sense of trust and community, and isn't that lovely? [#sarcasm] Ah, though Jason would be left out of the vote, since he's stuck here. [And he'll be raising his voice for this next part:] Poor Jason. Isn't that too bad for him?
[And now back to normal tones, as he brings his hands to an equal level, before lowering the other one.]
On the other hand, that's still practically inviting someone to steal it if everyone knows about its existence and who has it in their possession. Not to mention... whomever we consider the most trustworthy could actually be the least.
And while I glossed over it, there's also the matter of whether or not it's a good idea to blindly prevent the murders to begin with.

She will instantly glare at him indignantly for being a jerk to Jason, and push on his shoulder, though not hard. Hissing: ]

After that, though, she takes a moment to think. She isn't typically a quiet person, so it's clear she's thinking really hard about this. She doesn't even immediately deny his assertion about preventing the murders, which probably says something for her frame of mind. ]
... if we try to hide it, someone else will find it, and we don't know what they'll do with it. Keeping it a secret will be almost impossible. If we don't tell everyone about it, then... what would we do with it instead?
[ Apparently, she's not going to directly address his comment about preventing the murders. Why on earth would that be? ]
[But torturing Jason with hints of something Serious going on is so much fun!! And so even as Xion pushes him, he just grins.
But okay, moving on.]
Well, it's true that if we keep it a secret and someone finds out, then our trustworthiness takes a blow. Then again, mine's probably pretty low already, so that doesn't hurt me much.

Will you take responsibility if something goes wrong? [That's not really meant seriously, though.] I'll admit that I'm not thrilled about the idea of telling everyone [because he trusts nobody ever] but I'll also admit that I don't actually have a better idea at the moment.

Xion's mouth pulls to one side - both as she considers that problem, and as he teases Jason again, winning a brief glare. ]
Well... it is Thursday. Everyone should be back inside for curfew ... well, except for Jason. [ UNHAPPY FROWN ] So maybe we can gather everyone on the first floor after 9?
