[ WEEK TWO ]

WEEK TWO

CURRENT POPULATION: 40

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

[ The name isn't familiar to him, but at this point, that hardly surprises him. He's quickly learning to take the strangeness of this situation at face value, at least when it comes to individuals. As she starts to sing, Hannibal closes his eyes to listen. It's little more than a habit, as if drowning out one sense will improve another, but he does think to himself that she has a very lovely voice.

He's a moment from indulging in that thought and enjoying her voice as if it were a concert, but that reverie is broken quickly, and to his surprise. After all, even though he doesn't recognize the composer, he does recognize the lyrics, and that surprises him. He opens his eyes again and watch, as if he's waiting for the lyrics to diverge, but eventually, he breathes out a small, almost incredulous laugh. Whether that stops her or she finishes the song, he'll comment regardless: ]

Excuse me. I wasn't laughing at your singing, but- I was surprised. I don't know Albert Fink's work, but I actually do know that song. It caught me off guard.

[Elizabeth stops her singing at the sound of his laughter because come on how else is she supposed to take that???]

Hey--

[But then he explains, and she's surprised at his reason instead.]

There are more similarities then there are differences between worlds...some form of the same man must be in yours.

[ He looks apologetic when she stops, and he's quite ready to explain further and apologize, since he realizes it's quite rude, but... She does take it fairly well. Surprisingly so, since she has an easy answer as to why that similarity is there in the first place. ]

Perhaps so. I don't know who wrote the song itself, only the name of the group that sang it. Tears for Fears. It's not the sort of music I prefer, but it was popular enough to be inescapable.
