It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

[NO THANK YOU. Percy looks pretty perturbed by that idea.]
Just like the train. How the heck is he doing it? [This fucking robot, man.] And don't you have a roommate? How'd he get you out without waking them up, too?
[UGH. He shakes his head though and looks up at the sky. He stops then, frowning lightly and before Jason can respond he holds up his hands to stop him.] Actually wait. Don't go anywhere, I'll be right back. [A pause. Belatedly:] I mean...you know what I mean.
[And off he goes. Jason will be alone for maybe ten minutes before Percy comes back with what looks like two shoves and a bed sheet from the hotel. He starts to construct as he talks.] Anyway, roommate?
[Jason has no idea what Percy is going to do, so he lets him go with only a quirk of an eyebrow and an annoyed huff. This is probably why, when Percy comes back with the two shovels and the blanket, he looks at him like he's out of his mind.]
Uh, before I answer any other questions, you need to answer one of mine. [Which is:] What the hell are you doing?
[Being out of his mind. It'll become clear once Jason notices that Percy's driving one shovel in the dirt on one side of the stock and the second on the other. Give him a few moments and soon he'll drape the blanket over the handles of the shovel and adjust it so that Jason now is basically under a makeshift tent to block the sun as best as he can. Percy in turn raises his own eyebrow.]
[Why is Percy Jackson now suddenly the MVP? The best dude. Jason will get him a tent or somethink if he gets to take the stocks out for a test ride some other week.]
... Thanks. [Really.] Now what was it you wanted to know about my roommate?
[Thanks for being a pal, Jason. Once that's settled, Percy will even sit in the dirt in front of the stocks so Jason doesn't have to crane his head up to look at him.]
I wanted to know who your roommate was just because I have no idea, but also how the Sheriff managed to get you out of your room without them even noticing. Unless they weren't there at the time.
