[ WEEK THREE ]

WEEK THREE

CURRENT POPULATION: 35

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

Except there is, perhaps, a few things amiss.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

... Well, nothing like a cold, for starters.

[Definitely nothing like a cold!!]

So no excess mucus production, spasms of the lungs that manifest in coughing, or that tickling feeling in your nose that leads to sneezing?

[ah well]

So what are the symptoms, precisely? You've piqued my curiosity.
insincerely: ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ. (whatever liezel you loser)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
... Why, again, do you want any of that stuff?

[...]

Oh, just losing your sanity [well, kind of], spawning a labyrinth that swallows up everyone in the area, obtaining powers that you use to attack anyone who gets near you, having to be killed for the good of the world, etc.

Because the experience would be fascinating.

[THAT'S ALL. human bodies are so weird!! though her curious attitude fades quickly]

That sounds. . . unpleasant. [to say the least] I think we'd notice if someone here was afflicted with an illness like that.
insincerely: ᴍᴀɴɢᴀ. (no really stop trying to ask me out)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
You could always just give yourself food poisoning. That might also be "fascinating".

[Don't actually do it, Milla.]

It would be... very, very obvious, yes. Labyrinths are rather distinct. And large. That too. Though I suppose the victim would technically be brought without that...

[Not too sure how that'd work, though.]

Food poisoning. . . that's where one empties the entire contents of their stomach into a toilet, correct?

[don't worry, she loves food too much to associate it with something so miserable]

Do you think this entire town might be the result of someone being affected by this disease?
insincerely: ᴍᴀɴɢᴀ. (oh you think i care)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
... Yeah, close enough.

[He shrugs, but then shakes his head.]

The whole game aspect of it doesn't make any sense. Labyrinths are more of a "fight monsters and make your way through" deal.

[Sure, Eternal Labyrinths also tend to involve a lot of backstabbing and murder among their raiders, but not usually in... this context.]

[so kind of like the trails between cities back home, which were infested with monsters. she gets it!]

I see. That's interesting. . . I suppose, then, we'd know for sure if someone here was affected with Labyrinth Disease.

[a beat]

Why did you ask?
insincerely: ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ. (god woman i'm trying to be a jerk here)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
It was brought up in the last trial about figuring out who came from the same world as the old man [i.e. poor dead Manfred] so it reminded me that I was curious.

I spoke to Percy, and we both come from "Earth", but he didn't recognize the disease. However, in the world I know, it's just about impossible not to be aware of it. In other words, it's probably the easiest way to determine if we're from the same place.

[And to be honest, he might act a tad differently if he knew that anyone from his world was here.]

[nods!! she gets it]

That's clever. Have you found anyone else here who's from your world?
insincerely: ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ. (whatever liezel you loser)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. Poor me, all by my lonesome.

[He's glad for it.]

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-01-31 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you've come this far. So even if you're by yourself, I'd say you're doing rather well.

[MILLA THAT'S KIND OF COLD. . . not that she means to be, it just came out that way]
insincerely: ᴍᴀɴɢᴀ. (allow me to give you my informed opinion)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
... Okay, I don't recall asking for a pep talk, you know?
thatsthespirit: (pic#10763766)

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-01-31 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
You got one either way.

[handwave!!]

Consider yourself lucky.
insincerely: ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ. (whatever liezel you loser)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-01-31 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
More like unlucky...
thatsthespirit: (pic#10763689)

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-01-31 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Unlucky? It wasn't that bad, was it?
insincerely: ᴍᴀɴɢᴀ. (allow me to give you my informed opinion)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-02-01 01:41 am (UTC)(link)

[places a hand on his forehead??? SORRY FOR THE INVASION OF PERSONAL SPACE]

Hm. Is this what a fever feels like?
insincerely: ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ. (no let's not do karaoke again)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-02-01 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[!?!? MILLA... he'll be jumping back, thanks.]

Could you not do that?
thatsthespirit: (pic#10763702)

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-02-02 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Check for a fever? But you did say you were sick.

[it seems she didn't realize it was a figure of speech. . .]
insincerely: ᴍᴀɴɢᴀ. (allow me to give you my informed opinion)

[personal profile] insincerely 2017-02-02 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
... You do realize that wasn't meant literally, right? Or that fevers aren't the only signs of illness?
thatsthespirit: (pic#10763703)

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-02-02 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah! So it's another saying. Something that means, "I found this unpleasant."

[nod nod she has learned something new]

And you're right, but checking for a fever seems to be the most common course of action when one realizes someone might be sick.
