It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest.
[Um.] Yeah, that's me. [He's watching Claire a little more closely now.]
I don't really take the words of any kind of pastor to heart, but I guess there's enough truth in that. [He tilts his head.] So what are you doing to work hard in this place anyway? Besides testdriving a new career.
[It's not necessarily meant as sarcastic as it sounds, that's just Percy's default. He's genuinely a little curious since he knows a little more about Chane than Claire.]
That's actually one of the things I'm trying to figure out myself. Kinda gettin' tired of being a suspect for no reason, so it's time to step up! How do you think I'd best serve this town, PJ?
[Don't...call him PJ, wtf man. But he does give him another quizzical look.]
I'd say actually being upfront about stuff might help, but that sounds like something you're not into? Correct me if I'm wrong on that. [A pause.] Don't go into politics.
I don't think I've ever heard you say a direct thing in trials before, man. [Which, whatever, he's used to people going in circles.] What's considered "too direct" anyway?
Oh, I dunno, maybe things like divulging my adult love life, or saying that I was in my room when I was... --but hey, we can save this for the next trial.
[ Assuming neither of them is killed until then! ]
If you're still not convinced, then let me sleep in your room.
If I let you do that, what would happen to your roommate? [He's still a little curious about that, too, but apparently he also wouldn't say no to that to keep an eye on Claire. But. Like. Leave his roommates alone??] Isn't the whole point that people keep each other accountable here?
As you noticed, that doesn't seem to be working for me. [ It would help if his roomie piped up a little at trials, but alas. ] Besides, I wanna hold you kids accountable, too. You've been playing the cops for too long, you forget that anyone who votes isn't exactly innocent.
Indeed, the most honourable thing would be to not vote at all, but who wants to die, right? Better them than you, as it goes.
[There's a look of pure confusion.] I don't think that's something people are forgetting. We know there's still killers walking among all of us because we keep failing at the trials.
[That isn't what he means at all, but it's how Percy's choosing to interpret it.] What's wrong with trying to solve things?
