It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest.
There was very little interrupting the livelihoods of others involved. Promise.
[A shrug.]
I think alcohol usually makes people more likely to make stupid decisions like that. Still, we've basically seemed pretty capable of making them on our own so far, so maybe you're right.

Miss Natalie.
[HE'S KIND OF STUFFY]
And I shall certainly take your word on it. Truly it would be a shame if those levels of sarcasm were true.
[Is...is that a joke...]
no subject
[A super serious nod. Extremely serious.]
Yeah. Clearly that would be the worst thing that's ever happened here.
no subject
Very well then. I shall endeavor to call you simply Natalie, if that is truly what you would prefer.
[Sure would though, look at that sass.]
Truth be told, I believe some of that is entirely necessary considering the situation.
[Better to have sassy black humor than......nothing but despair really.]

[She looks back at the poster, then back to him.]
Which part, the sarcasm or the public intoxication? Because I feel like you could make a strong argument for either.
no subject
I was referring to the sarcasm, but I fear you are not incorrect about the intoxication.
[SIGH]
no subject
Wouldn't have expected that from you, of all people.

Drunken disorderliness is certainly something that should not be taken lightly, especially if it disturbs the livelihoods of others--
[...]
--But you cannot deny that were everyone to be far too drunk to kill anyone Thursday night, it would be a blessing.

[A shrug.]

[Besides, it's still better than murder.]
... Indeed, we do not seem to require any assistance. Perhaps enough alcohol to make certain everyone is incapable of standing up...
[Don't seriously consider this, Barnham.]
no subject
You realize we still have a ten year old here, right?
no subject
I did not say it was a good plan, nor a completed one.
[God damian you fucked up the plan!!]
no subject
[Why are either of them seriously considering either of these possibilities? A mystery.]
no subject
Perhaps, though I fear one mistake would be fatal.
[Could you imagine a pile of drugged people just waiting to be stabbed by someone]

[He grimaces.]
That the victims have not been able to protect themselves, despite being quite capable... makes me believe you are correct, however.
[He hates it, but the Sheriff made it clear that one trial--once a victim's chosen, there's nothing they can do.]
no subject
Well, this is sure a happy topic of conversation.

Kind of hard not to talk about murder when all that happens is murder, but he gets the hint.]
We could certainly return to speaking of your poster instead, if you would prefer.
[That was a Joke. Probably.]

[Natalie...]
no subject
not that he doesn't get it or hasn't heard that before but still]
I most certainly am capable of making jokes, Natalie.
[sheesh!]

Some people are born wet blankets. I wouldn't have judged.
