CURRENT POPULATION: 40 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Sunday evening, railroad station

[ Simon has found his wanted poster and is staring at it rather blankly. Sure is a lot of murder on there for a guy who's been running aroud playing second fiddle to a monkey. ]

Farm

[ Despite the fact that they seem pretty well tended to already, Simon's taken it upon himself to look after the animals, brushing the horses and cows, feeing them treats, and taking them out for exercise. Catch him while he thinks no one is there, and you might spy him teaching them to dance. ]

The saloon

[ Look, maybe this guy is a weenie, but he can still knock back a beer or two. Gotta take the edge off right? The monkey has one, too. ]

[Greetings, roomie. Shinnosuke is definitely taking notice of that poster.]

My, you suddenly became more interesting.

[court_chesster]

[ Jumping; the timid face is plastered right back on. ]

Y-you can't possibly think any of that is true!? Nowaynowaynoway could I murder somebody!

[insincerely]

[He hums thoughtfully.]

It always is the meek ones...

[Is he serious? Messing around with Simon? Who knows?]

[ He deflates a little, sadness creeping into his voice. ]

I was framed. I... I saw something I shouldn't have.

[insincerely]

[In an entirely unsympathetic tone:]

Were you, now? Were you framed for "being a bad friend" too?

That's a remarkable track record.

[So Simon is a murderer, huh. Who'd have guessed?]

[ Turning to him with wide, watery eyes. ]

No way! Don't tell me you really believe that!

Everyone has a dark secret. You just have four.

[It's not really any of his business, so he doesn't plan to give anyone a hard time for what the wanted posters say]

[ Simon, on the other hand, is not about to let it go. ]


Four false charges! ...Three! Three false charges! Haven't you ever seen a prosecutor in action? They'll throw everything at you just to see if something sticks!

I'm not sure what you mean by prosecutor.

Everyone makes their own justice. The people in charge just say a word and anyone can be sent to the cruelest fates you can imagine.

[Unless the accused have a lot of power and ways to fight those who try to imprison them, that is]

[ papika also came by to check out the animals!

... actually she came by to look at the cows and to figure out if she can like, eat one, but that's a minor detail. when she spots simon though, she immediately goes over to him because she is a curious bean. ]

Are they dancing?

[ Simon gasps as if he's been caught doing something wrong. ]

Y-yes! I'm sorry! Is that okay? They looked like they could use some fun!

[flippity]

It was funny!

[ she attempts to twirl, but just loses her balance immediately. ]

Eeeek! Are you okay?

[ Rushing to help!! ]

[flippity]

I'm okay!

[ but more importantly: ] Are you going to eat them after they learn how to dance?

No! Well, yes. But all the murder things aren't true! I could never do something like that!

Uh-huh. Darlin', if there's one thing I know, it's that pretty much everyone could murder someone. Did you frame him? Sounds like a bad-friend thing to do, and I bet that'd go over well with some people.

No, of course not! I didn't know what he was gonna do!

B-besides, why would anybody believe what those dumb posters say! I'm sure you didn't...

[ Stops to look at Nisha's poster. ]

...do unlicensed se—eeeek! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to look at it!

[ She laughs. ]

I've definitely done everything on my poster and more, kid.

[Ocelot comes by at some point to lean on a fence, observing the horses. And his attention naturally drifts over to the fancy horsey footwork.]

...You're pretty good with animals.

M-me? No, I mean, like I was saying before, I'm not that good. I just like to play with them...

[Hand-gestures over the fence.]

Do you know how to make a horse respond to whistles?

I know a little, but I still have a lot to learn. You said you worked with horses, right? I'd be happy to see.
