It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

[Oh.] Then it isn't only us then. It's everything. Like the hoverboard. Pennyworth is an normal cat, so I wouldn't have noticed any change in him. [Poor Mrs. O'Leary. Damian gives her some reassuring ruffly pets.]
Goliath would have been the same, if he had been here. [Man, why couldn't he have gotten Goliath?]
I know a few people that have things that're powered down. From what I can tell whoever the Sheriff's working for is pretty powerful. [Wait.] And what's Goliath...?
Does he ever come back to visit? [He watches Mrs. O'Leary push her head into Damian's legs briefly before turning back to Percy.] Mrs. O'Leary usually lives at Camp but sometimes she comes into the city to find me. I don't know if you guys have anything that could hide a giant red bat beast but. [Shrug.]
Sometimes. [And he's glad because he often misses the giant idiot.] He's with... [The pause is too long, but Damian can't help debating what word he wants to use. Dammit.] ...a friend.
Mm. [It's about as much as he can give as a goodbye, eyes distantly watching Mrs. O'Leary lead the way. But he watches Percy once the other boy is in his line of sight.]

I found him when I was sent on a mission. I took him back with me to keep, but I have since given him his freedom.

You don't sound too sure about that.

We're friends. [He sounds kind of funny admitting it. Almost like... he's embarrassed. A little.]

Was that really so hard to admit? Even vigilantes need some friends, dude.

Trust me, I know. [He shakes his head.] Still doesn't mean you should go without them.
[Mrs. O'Leary seems to direct her attention elsewhere, barking at Percy to get a move on.] I should keep an eye on her. See you later?
