CURRENT POPULATION: 40 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. I have an appreciation, thanks to a friend of mine. I can't play it at all, though.

Yeah? What kind of music does your friend like?

[Talking about music, somehow, prevents her from engaging in her normal level of sass.]

[ Music, savage beast, etc. ]

About the same as what you were playing. She likes the upbeat tunes, too.

[ Well, the Craigs are mostly a family of musicians, after all... ]

Classical, or just anything that sounds good to her?

[She keeps playing as she talks, fingers moving over the keys with precision.]

Classical, mostly. Anything else was improvising with her brother.

[ ... Elliot would have been happy to hear this, too, come to think of it. ]

Nice. But you never wanted to learn or anything?

Me? [ a very small snort. ]

No, I don't think I've got that kind of patience to sit that long and try to make something sound pretty.

But you have enough patience to sit this long and listen to something sound pretty?

[Which is entirely different, she knows, but she can't resist making the jab anyways.]

Yep! It's amazing what else you can do when you're listening.

[She glances over at Sara for a moment before looking back towards the keys with a smirk.]

Right, all the things you can do. Like standing there and doing nothing other than listening.

And pondering the course my life is taking.

[ Duh. ]

Don't you need a few more drinks to get to that point?

Oh, please. [ with the lightest of scoffs. ] Those two things are completely unrelated.

Are they, though? Are they really?

[They certainly aren't in her experience.]

Once you stop being a lightweight, yeah.

[ Who needs alcohol to be philosophical, please-- ]

Ah, so you have experience with the whole getting drunk and regretting your decisions thing.

[It comes out lightly teasing.]

Well, not so much now that I'm older.

[ Younger? Probably. ]

[robitussin]

Ah. Your wild and reckless teenage years, huh?

[alcobrawlic]

[ There's a pause, before her lips quirk slightly. ]

Yeah. Something like that.

[robitussin]

[She finishes the song and turns towards Sara, finally giving the woman her attention.]

Sounds like a story. Care to share?

Does anyone ever really feel like talking about their deep dark pasts?

[ She's just making a face. ]

[robitussin]

I feel like we've cycled back to the whole five more drinks point.

[A shrug.]

Anyways, if you knew about music secondhand through your friend... Can't promise I'd know it, but you got any requests?

Do you know... [ hmmm. ] The Whereabouts of Light?

[robitussin]

Can't say I do, sorry.

[A shrug.]

If you tell me what mood it's going for, though, I can probably play something that's at least similar.
