[ WEEK ONE ]

WEEK ONE

CURRENT POPULATION: 40

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

I'm pretty sure robots are, like, a way higher level of technology than a movie is? I don't see how you got to one but not the other.

I don't know. It's possible someone already created such thing, but hasn't shared the technology with the rest of the world. It happens very often.

[Tarvek himself being guilty of doing that many times, too]

robitussin: (when i thought you might be dying)

[She shakes her head.]

Doubt it. I mean, the entire point of movies is to show them to other people. They're supposed to make money.

...I don't know, sparks usually don't have much need for money. Either they come from wealthy families like mine or they obtain so many minions working willingly...or out of fear.

[The Girl Genius world doesn't focus on money too much when it's about how sparks manage to get all the materials and tech they need, hahaha]
robitussin: (feel like i feel too)

Do I want to ask what a spark is? Also, is a minion another word for servant, or...?

I keep forgetting we're not all from the same world.

[He's so used to the normal terms it feels weird to look for alternatives]

'Sparks' are, ah...mad scientists. It entails everything you can imagine and more. And yes, minions are like servants, usually living in towns around a spark's home.
robitussin: (or if they just fake it)

[personal profile] robitussin 2017-01-18 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[She pauses for a moment.]

...You come from a world full of mad scientists. Why am I not surprised?

Don't you have spar--uh, mad scientists in your world?

[Must be a really calm world if it doesn't have sparks]
robitussin: (it only hurts when i cry)

[personal profile] robitussin 2017-01-19 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
We most definitely do not, other than in movies and books.

...you have no idea how lucky your world is.
robitussin: (they're sure this cure)

Oh, don't get me wrong, we have a lot of shit, too. It just doesn't take the form of mad scientists.
