It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest.
[It might be a surprise but Percy's very quiet as he listens, keeping himself focused and absorbing everything he can to try and find a pattern in all of this. There are certain things he can relate to and certain things he understands, but he doesn't speak up until Ezio finishes.]
I'm sorry about your family. [This is said first and most importantly.] Sometimes people get punished for things that their families do even if they're the right thing at the time. [Still, his eyes flit over some of the posters.]
Out of a lot of these things, I think treason's on the lighter side. It could be the only thing whoever's running the game could really pinpoint you for knowing people believed the accusations where you're from. A lot of us are getting the idea they've been watching us for a while now.
[He doesn't say anything at first, just nods. It's been 12 years, but he's never sure what to say to that. What could be said? It's easier honestly to just focus on the present situation.]
That's what's strange actually... There's far worse it could say, and those accusations would be true. But I wouldn't care as much if that were the case, considering the other posters. But...
You can understand why this accusation would frustrate me, vero? And clearly, those in charge here could understand that as well. Perhaps, that's what makes it "fun" for them.
They want to get a reaction out of us. [It's said almost with a touch of awe, though he doesn't look impressed at all.] Easiest way to get us to play along is if they make us mad from the start.
The Sheriff said that it might be possible to meet his employers later. [Maybe. Percy's banking on what he was told a little too much.] But that--[He nods to the poster]--isn't enough to push you over the edge, is it?
[Normally, he might've laughed at the question, but... it doesn't seem right at the moment.]
No. I have no intentions of participating in this game, at least in the way they'd like for us to.
We need to be careful to not let anger or fear turn us against one another. We should be focused on escaping. Together. Although I'm sure there's some of us who wouldn't agree with me.
Funny enough, I have that same feeling. [Granted, he doesn't sound like he finds it funny at all but he can agree that there are people who won't be focused.] We have a few pretty paranoid people around already anyway. It's only going to get worse if we don't get everybody to focus faster.
[And then, genuinely curiously:] Any ideas for a great escape?
[More so he had meant those who were focused, but focused on killing everyone instead. But he nods, since this is just as true and it's not worth correcting sounding paranoid himself.]
I'd say we take a few horses and ride until we reach another town, but... somehow I have a feeling that wouldn't work. That aside, there might be something we're not seeing. A secret passageway? Or maybe a room where our captors are hiding. I'm curious about that cave near the train tracks, honestly.
You think there might be something to it? Caves tend to be good hiding spots. [He'd thought about exploring himself, but that was on the backburner for now. His main focus was to speak to everyone he could.] With all of the warning signs out front it makes you wonder what we'd find in there.
Sí, it would seem they want to keep us out of there, but that's enticing, isn't it? ...Although, all of that could be part of their game as well. [That didn't mean he wasn't any less curious, though. Besides, what could they do that wasn't entertaining to them?] There could be something in there waiting for us.
A trap set up to entice us. [There's that, too, and that possibility isn't fun.] I wish there was a way we could send something else in there first to see what happens. A decoy or something, you know? Is that possible here?
It'd be helpful enough if something's waiting in there for us. It won't move, but it could set something off at the mouth if there's a trap waiting there. [Hm.] But if it's further we wouldn't be able to tell. That's where it gets kind of hard.
