It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest.
[He raises an eyebrow.] Lots of experience with robots?
[It's all he can guess, but at the same time he gets what Tarvek means.] It might work if we didn't have time to talk to people and judge for ourselves, and, you know, we weren't kidnapped here against our will. [Just a thought.] Are you worried about any of these people?
Clanks are my specialty. [He says it with the confidence of someone who does know what he's talking about. He's excellent with mechanics and mechanical beings!]
Besides the Sheriff? I'm rather concerned about those who have 'murder' in their wanted posters. [And he knows very well that includes you, Percy] I'm not saying their posters are accurate, but if they had that written on their posters then the Sheriff must think of them as potential killers, at the very least.
I don't really know what that means, dude. [It's said with a little laugh, like he wouldn't mind an explanation but there's no promise he'd actually listen the whole way through either.]
The Sheriff might count murder as somebody accidentally pushing somebody and sending them over the edge of a cliff. I don't think his qualifications count much. [That is to say he knows that definitely includes him and he's very much not entertaining the idea of explaining that.]
Clanks. Robots [Said that word with uncertainty. That's how Natalie had named them] You know, mechanical creations. You give them an order, they fulfill it. That's the simplest way to explain it.
Either way, what we may or may not have done back at our homes doesn't really change anything on the long run. In here we're all the same, a blank state. What we do here is what matters.
Oh. [Yeah okay so they are the same. Good to know. Don't mind him nodding slowly...]
That's really inspirational and all, but there's the problem where we are not robots and some people are going to go off and do whatever they want. How do you think we can get people to...I don't know, not dirty up their slate or something?
[Tarvek doesn't know. The harsh reality is that some people are going to die]
Some are going to die and there's nothing we can do. We can't predict which ones are going to make the move. All we can do as a group is try to find alternate ways to beat the Sheriff's game before too many lives are lost.
[The Sheriff did insinuate there were other alternatives, after all]
Even if there's no way we can predict who's going to act, can't we figure out a way to protect people and keep most of them alive? [Like the younger kids? Or the adults who have things to live for? That seems important.]
Roommates seem to be the best choices to watch each other's backs. I do know I plan to try to protect Xion as much as I can, that's for sure.
[After searching with her the Sheriff's station and talking with her in the graveyard he's starting to feel a bit responsible for her. But yeah, the roommates seem like the best choice, in Tarvek's opinion]
[All these 'what then' and 'ifs' are starting to get Tarvek a bit antsy. He hasn't really given much thought to all that. Sure, he didn't want anyone to die, he did care about everyone's wellbeing, but at the same time he had been more focused on planning how to ruin the Sheriff's game than in keeping everyone safe]
Look, as I see it, it's unavoidable some of us will die at some point no matter what we do. It'd be great if no one dies, but that scenario is very unlikely!

And what about if somebody's roommate seems interested in playing along? What then?

Okay, okay, relax. I'm just asking so we can maybe be prepared for just about anything that comes to us. Is that really such a bad idea?
